Plot Summary

Zoe always wanted to be like other girls. She dreamed of being a baker, having a family, and living a normal life where people were treated with fairness and justice. She had the clothes and she could have the looks, but there was no way to stop the hunger. Every man was a meal waiting to be consumed. Every woman a snack to be devoured. Every customer was another potential appetizer.

Then she met Ander, a policeman that needed her help to build a case. The closer Zoe got, the more her hunger awoke. Soon it began to wake up urges in other people too. Ander, his target, and even her neighbors. The very world seemed to be conspiring against her, tempting and teasing her.

She fought the urges. Fought them by denying who, and what, she was. She deprived herself and barely lived, starving herself of the very life her body craved. She wanted to be normal not because of how others would look at her, but because they didn't deserve what she would do to them.
