The Third Succubi’s Tale Anniversary

The Third Succubi’s Tale Anniversary is today… It’s been a fun three years, with lots of things shared with you all..

And here is one more thing on this day I hope is enjoyed…

Tale Cooking

By TeraS

It was a special day in the Realm:  not as important as a birthday, or the day that Tera and Keith met, or anything else that important …

… but important for Tera, nonetheless.

She spent a long time in her library, looking through her cookbooks, trying to figure out the right thing for this year. The stack of those she decided against was getting taller and taller by the minute, and she was about to give up, when her tail poked at a book on the table and flipped it open.

She looked at the recipe there for a time, a small smile on her lips, and she hoped that it would be a hit for the three she was baking for that day. This day was to celebrate not just an important moment for her and Tail, but to share it with three of her family who supported her every day.

So it was on that morning that she found herself in the kitchen, working away, her hands busy with one thing, her tail stirring something else, and, all around her, plans in various states …

… none of them quite ready as yet.

Her evil toaster, Toastie, watched, somewhat miffed that Tera wasn’t making toast with her. AngelKitties fluttered around the kitchen, occasionally getting a swat from Tera’s tail as they sampled the batter or knocked over the sugar, as they tended to do. Just once, her dog peeked in; there was a confused look on Brit’s face before Tera tossed a cookie in her direction and closed the door behind the dog to keep her from being underfoot …

She continued to beat the eggs, sift the flour, and, eventually, finish what she was working on and put it into the oven.  Closing the book of recipes and putting it away once more, Tera cleaned up the mess and sniffed the air approvingly as her confection baked in the oven. Finally, with everything cleaned up and the kitchen spotless once more, she took off her apron, hung it away, and then waited for the oven to finish its job.

As she had nothing to do but wait, she closed her eyes and rested a bit … but, as she did, her hair turned red, her tail turned black, and Tail appeared to inspect Tera’s work.

She sighed a bit at what Tera had been making … and she sighed a bit more … and then she called upon a friend to help her, one she knew would make her baking exactly so:  she found the book Tera had been using and opened it again, the secret within the pages letting her call for help once more. Her friend arrived in a flash, with a hug and smile for her as he did, looked over the baking, and explained what they needed to fix.

And so, around mid-day, what Tera had been working on all morning was finally finished. The bell on the oven sounded and Tera awoke, looked around, shrugged, and then went off to check how it all had gone. Opening the oven, she looked her effort over with a critical eye.  “Flaky crust? Juicy filling? It looks to be a ‘yes’ to those questions,” she thought, thankfully, with a relieved sigh.  She set it on the windowsill to cool for a bit, gathered her utensils and other things, then, finally, carried it all to the sitting room of her home in the Realm …

Waiting there for her were three who most mattered to her on this day …

The first was, of course, her Eternal, Keith, a smile spreading on his face as soon as she entered. He had been entertaining two others, one being her only Incubi brother, known as Freeze, and the other being her heart, the Poet Laureate of the Realm, James …

Tera set what she had been cooking on a table there, along with knives, forks, and plates. Snapping her fingers she exclaimed, “Darn it! Forgot something! Back in a sec!” and then vanished back into the kitchen once more …

At this point the three in the room looked at each other with some trepidation in their eyes. This was something Tera did every year on this day and–so far, at least–the results hadn’t been the best.

Keith looked at what Tera had baked and said, “Well, it’s not a pound cake. Remember three years ago? You couldn’t take a bite of it.”

Freeze smiled, “And the Hellhounds wouldn’t touch it.”

James chuckled, “But we all managed to get it down, didn’t we?”

Freeze shot him a look, “And last year’s Angel Food cake was more of a waffle, wasn’t it?”

A hearty laugh from James, “Well we did have it with maple syrup, as I remember, so that sort of worked.”

Keith’s tail pointed at the kitchen, “I think what didn’t work is how she mixed up the ingredients a bit.”

The sound of Tera opening cupboards and moving utensils focused them all and Keith asked, “So who’s taking the first bite, then?”

James answered, “Well that’s your duty, is it not?”

Freeze nodded, “That’s right, bub.  Your taste buds are toast.”

Keith smiled slyly as he exclaimed, “Oh no, my friends, this time we all get it all together and all get a taste at the same time.”

It was all in jest, of course; that was part of the fun.  Tera did her best for them in cooking, but sometimes the recipes won.

Then she returned, placing a container on the table with a flourish.  A knife appeared in her hand and then she began to start serving. The first piece went to James–a nice slice of it he got, with a lovely “Thank you, Dear One” in reply.  But then he gave a careful eye to the treat.

The next went to Freeze, exactly the same size.  He gave a smile, a tail wave, and the words, “Thanks, Sis” … but again a careful eye.

The next one went to Keith, exactly the same.  Tera’s and Keith’s tails entwined … and then Keith appraised the dessert just like the others had.

Tera took another piece, leaving one in the dish.  Onto her plate it went, and then she said, “Enjoy!”

You could have cut the silence with a knife as they all poked into what Tera had made. A pie of some kind, but just what she had not said.  Each man took a small bit on the end of his forks … and then down it went.  Tera’s eyes were closed, so she didn’t see their reactions. They seemed surprised at first, then quite glad.

Keith was the first to comment, “That’s really quite nice!”

James was next with, “Lovely work, Dear One; really the best!”

Freeze was his usual self. A pause, some thinking, and then, “Pretty damn swell!”

Tera laughed a bit and offered whipping cream to the three of them … of course you need that when you have warm cherry pie…

But what she didn’t say, and wouldn’t, just cuz, was that it wasn’t she that had created this one. No, Tail did this with the help of her friend, Baker, the one who taught her that baking was more than the ingredients there. Cooking was art, but so was the fun, and what Tail really liked was cooking with Baker (and he with her, too) …

Tail watched this all and then, to everyone’s surprise, bumped a sign which said “Add some whipped cream, you guys.”

They all laughed at that, but finished the pie—with whipped cream–just happy they could share it together.

But Later that night, when James and Freeze were off for home, Keith was out with Brit, and Tera was all alone …

… Tail returned to the fore and took the last slice, opened a portal, and vanished from sight.  She appeared in a bakery on the other side of the Realm, knocked on the door, and then …

… Baker opened the door, asking, “How did it go?”

Tail’s answer was to take a fork of the pie and feed it to him, nice and slow. They took turns eating the slice, laughing a bit, knowing that, this year, the story would be about the excellent treat Tera had made as a gift.  But to Baker and Tail, the truth was well known …

This was the third anniversary of the Tale, and, really, who else could make a cherry pie the right way on this special day except a Succubi’s Tail?

Thank you all that read the Tale and I hope for many anniversaries more…

More thank you’s to James for helping my writing look better than it is as always…

The 2010 Succubi Realm Flash Challenge Part II

The 2010 Succubi Realm Flash Challenge happened earlier this year… October to be exact.

The concept of the challenge was to write a story based on the idea of there is a support group for people who have met Succubi and then returned to their regular lives. They share the stories of those meetings. Since Halloween is approaching. legend has it their Succubi will return. Some are thrilled and anxious, some are terrified.

There were two lovely entries that were shared on The Realm, the Forum of This is the last of two entries to the Challenge to be shared this year. This work is by a dear friend named S.B. who’s words are wonderful emotional things to be shared…

By S.B.

When I met the Succubi Queen, I was ready to die. It was on October 31st, 2009, it was raining cats and dogs, and I was standing on the railing of a bridge, looking down at the murky waters of a river eager to claim my soul. I was hopeless and pathetic, carrying along a semblance of humanity only on the outside, for within there was nothing but a hollow space and billowing winds of despair.

She materialized out of thin air less than two metres from where I stood about ready to say “Yes!” to oblivion. At the time I knew not who or what she was, but was immediately convinced of her supernatural origin. Though I was soaking wet, she managed to stay clear of the downpour, and her green eyes shone like two powerful lighthouses in the eye of the storm. I failed to consciously notice[ the small red horns partially hidden underneath cascades of dark, flowing hair and the tip of the tail peeking from behind her skin-tight long dress; yet my mind’s eye saw it all, and perceived she hadn’t shown herself to me without a clear purpose.

“Such a waste…” she said quietly as she tried to reach for one of my hands. “Are you really going to do that?”

“I’ve got nothing left to do,” I remember replying, drowning in self-pity over the untimely loss of all of those that had been dear to me in the recent past. “At least this way, I’ll find peace.”

“In the abyss?” she inquired, raising both her eyebrows and her voice ever so slightly but not in a threatening way. “In the darkness that loathes everything except itself and will do anything in its power to tear your memories apart and torture you until the Universe dies as well?”

“You don’t know what I’m feeling right now! I’d rather have the abyss than the pain of loneliness!”

“You’re right”, she admitted. “I don’t know, though I can sense it, as well as the potential you still carry within you. It’s currently buried under thick layers of grief that are beyond my powers. I can’t make them go away with a snap of a finger. I can, however, offer you a chance of deliverance.”

“How?” I asked. “How can you do such a thing?”

“I’m from a Realm where possibilities work differently than what you’re used to, where certain laws you think immutable are, in fact, easily bent. It’s My Realm for I’m its Queen and I’m in need of trustworthy subjects to keep it running harmoniously.”

“I don’t understand what you’re saying…”

“I’m aware of that. That’s the sorrow doing the talking for you. You’ll come to terms with it if you honour me with a simple wish.”

“And that wish is that?”

“Live. Fight the bareness of being! In exactly one year from now, I’ll return to this very place and, if you’re ready by then, I’ll give you the keys to the first door of The Realm and all the answers to your questions. Please don’t disappoint me.”

Just as quickly as she had appeared, she vanished into the night. For a few seconds, it was as if the rain still felt a trace of her regal presence and hesitated to fall in the spot she had occupied. When it finally did, I was no longer on the edge of forgetfulness but rather walking away with her words in my mind. I could feel mystic ripples in them, notes of a melody waiting to be played if I dared to learn the instrument to do so, and that meant I had to confront the titanic fiends of isolation and abandon that fuelled my desolation. Beyond the bridge, the world was waiting….

* * *

A year has already gone by and I followed her wish through. Though I’ve yet to overcome all the barriers that bind my thoughts, most of the self-imposed ones already lie in the deepest recesses of past anguish, never to be erected again. The bridge looks much more inviting now, and no rain is expected over the course of the next few days according to the weather report. All that’s left is for her to appear once more so I can thank her for the strange kindness and compassion she has shown me.

“You’re welcome”, a rich voice resonates everywhere around and, as I turn my head to ascertain the source of the sound, I see her with wide open eyes and spirit. Although, I’m sure she was as beautiful before as she is today, I can’t escape the impact of her loving gaze as it evokes in me a blissful sense of completeness unlike anything I have ever experienced.

“Your soul was broken, but I can see it’s started to mend. The flickering potential I saw before now burns brighter than an Olympic flame, and that’s exactly what The Realm needs to thrive and prosper. Will you grant me the honour of your service for as long as I require it?” she asks gallantly, as her heart-tipped tail swishes from side to side in an almost perfect hypnotic rhythm.

She already knows the answer before I even dare to utter the words. Her radiance surpasses even what I used to conceive as ‘angelic’. She wears no crown, but she’s My Queen and her ruling is pleasurable and just. I know for certain she’ll never command me to do so yet I’m already kneeling in devotion as I plant a small kiss on her latex-gloved hand.

The keys of The Realm burn passionately between my fingers… As my story ends, true deliverance begins…

Thank you for sharing your story with us dearest S.B…. A heartfelt story that touched my heart and soul so very very much…
Thank you…

A Heroes of Newerth Succubus Drawing YouTube…

In September of this year, I found an artist named Kingaby and shared with readers of the Tale a YouTube of a work he did of a Succubus and a Samurai… You can find that Tale post here if you are interested in it…

This week I found that he has drawn another delicious Succubus and so…

And if you can’t see the embedding:

And an image, a small one, of the completed work he did of this Succubus:

This art is called Succubus and is based on the Succubi that appear in the Heroes of Newerth video game.

While I did find this on YouTube, Kingaby also posted this work on his DeviantArt site here.

I like this quite a lot, especially the tail that is so very slinky and sexy really… I’m a bit unhappy with all of the darkness around her though, it hides so much of the details in this work that it bothers me a bit.

And I really would love to have seen more of the work that Kingaby placed into this, there are so many hints of it, but darn it, you just can’t see them well…

Regardless of that, she’s sexy and has a hint of seductive evil in her which is delicious…

Her expression is a bit away from sexy, it’s more like controlled evil, but that I think is artistic license more than anything else… I think it’s interesting as well how the muscles are so well defined, she’s obviously quite strong and that’s something that you don’t normally see in images of Succubi…

Hoping that you visit Kingaby’s sites and enjoy his work!

Even a Succubus like Bo needs a Fae Day…

We got some excellent news this week about our dear Succubus Bo and the Lost Girl series. Showcase has given them a second season to play with and that is really good news. The one thing that is troubling to me however is that Lauren (Zoie Palmer) is not listed as being part of the next season so far in the press releases they have given us. While that does not mean she is not returning for the next season as yet, it is a troubling thing. The tension between Bo, Dyson and Lauren seems to be a core part of the series and really should continue…

But, we will see if that happens…

Episode nine of the Lost Girl TV series was this week. My fear of another reset didn’t happen thankfully, we found out quite a lot about the Fae and their world, but more importantly, we found out something about Trick that explains a lot, but doesn’t answer all of the questions it raising about him. An excellent episode that builds on Episode eight and leaves us looking for more…

As usual, I will be posting thoughts every Friday of the week after an episode of Lost Girl is shown. I will be adding the individual episodes to the SuccuWiki somewhat sooner than that, but won’t be adding my commentary to the articles as that is what the Tale is for….

Bo decides that the Fae world is getting her down and so she takes a…

Fae Day

The episode begins with Bo (Anna Silk) in her apartment practising her swordplay. This continues for a time and then, in the middle of a move, Bo finds herself almost thrusting her weapon through Kenzi (Ksenia Solo). Kenzi make light of this for a time, trying to make fun of the fact that Bo couldn’t save Lou Ann the episode before and that the information that she was looking for about her mother she couldn’t get. Kenzi then reveals that Trick had been leaving messages on her phone  that he would like Bo and Kenzi to appear at the Fae Bar. Reluctantly, Bo agrees to this and she and Kenzi leave the apartment, Bo noting that she needs a break from the Fae, and, she says, “their shit.”

However, arriving at the bar, Bo and Kenzi find that a huge party is going on and Fae, both Light and Dark, are there together. Kenzi comments looking at two Fae dancing with a large snake, “Cue the Fae and their shit.” The pair make their way through the crowds and meet with Trick (Richard Howland). Trick attempts to get Bo to talk to him about what happened with Lou Ann, but she declines and simply thanks him for what he did for her. He then welcomes them to the celebration which he calls La Shoshain. He explains that this day is the most sacred day of the year for Fae. The day is when Dark and Light Fae can get close to each other, it is also an excuse for partying, drinking, and the occasional moments of sex between the two sides. Kenzi makes a bit of fun about it calling it Fae Day which seems to take Trick aback a little bit, as he explains that the day is supposed to be spiritual in nature.

While this has been going on, a woman has been playing a harp in the background. She suddenly stops playing and then seems to go into a trance. Moments later, she stands up, lets out a long shriek which shocks everyone in the room and then snaps out of the trance before running away. Trick announces to all that the celebration is over in the next moment. Bo asks what happened and Trick tells her that the woman was a Banshee and that her shriek is predicting that someone in the bar is going to die shortly.

When we return from the main title sequence, Trick is sending everyone out of the bar except for anyone he says is part of the five families. He then explains that the Banshees only wail for the five Noble families, which consist of five old family names, five are Fae and five are Human. Dyson (Kris Holden-Ried) arrives then asking Trick if he has an idea how to find the Banshee. Trick says he does and vanishes while Dyson mentions that he hasn’t seen Bo for a while. Bo replies that she needed some space. Trick returns and give Dyson a card to the booking agent that he hired the Banshee from.

Dyson then explains that he needs Bo to help him get the information about who the wail was for because on La Shoshain, Far are not allowed to feed, fight, or use their gifts. Bo asks Dyson to say please, but instead he comments that she might have Noble blood in her and it would be good to know if she was the person that the Banshee wailed for. Trick in the meantime tries to get Kenzi to leave, she refuses, and storms out, obviously very agitated over everything that has happened so far. Dyson asks Bo to wait in the car for him and tries to talk to Trick about what’s going on.

Dyson finds Trick stuffing items into a cloth bag and asks him who’s they are. He explains that the things are owned by Lou Ann and that he intervened in her execution and saved her, putting her into hiding. Dyson is confused since Trick has never helped a Dark Fae before. He then reveals that Lou Ann was in fact Bo’s midwife. Dyson confronts him and asks how long they will continue to keep Bo in the dark about who her mother is. Trick replies as long as they can. After a comment that Dyson is doing well at it, to which he say he hates lying to Bo and Trick tells him that he shouldn’t have gotten personally involved, Dyson tells him that he should be more involved with Bo. Dyson then asks what they do when Aife (Or is it Eve? Assuming that this is Bo’s Mother they are talking about) shows up? Trick’s answer is a simple “When.'” Trick then sends Dyson on his way to find the Benshee.

The next scene finds Bo and Dyson in an office building going to the talent agency the Banshee came from. As they travel in an elevator, Dyson explains more of what La Shoshain is. The day commemorates the Blood King who sacrificed on this day for the Fae. Fae are not allowed to use their powers, feed on humans or have Fae on Fae violence occur. Dyson also explains that the events are shrouded in myth and legend and occurred well over a thousand years ago in the past. The only things that remain are the written laws and nothing else. Bo asks him to tell her some of the stories, but Dyson replies with some irritation that she should read a book.

They arrive in the talent agency and are told that the Banshee has vanished by the person working there. However a noise from another room reveals the Banshee and they take her aside to question her. While this goes on, Kenzi meets a Fae in the bar and they talk about making a Deal Pool on the people in the bar. We find out that the Benshee’s name is Siobhan (Sarah Power), but that the information they need can only be taken when she is unconscious. Bo uses a drink that is made with liver and forces it down her throat, using a funnel, making her go into a trance, her eyes turn white and an otherworldly voice tells them what they want to know. The Fae marked for death is named Shawn Kavanagh.

Meanwhile, Kenzi and her new Fae friend are playing a game and talking about various things. They talk about gambling, money and so on and seem to be getting along well. That is until Dyson and Bo arrive and announce the name of the one that the Banshee cried for. And that person turns out to be the person that Kenzi was getting to know, that being Shawn Kavanagh (Randal Edwards). She tries to get him to not take it so seriously and make a bucket list and get that done. Shawn tells her that there is only one thing that he regrets.

Bo in the meanwhile talks to Trick, trying to get more information on Benshees among other things. Bo sees that Trick is in a bad mood, but Trick replies that he has a lot on his mind. He then gives Bo an ancient scroll that was written by the Blood King in the past. She cannot read it and he also gives her a book which translates it into something she can understand. Bo leaves with the book in hand and runs into Kenzi and Shaun. Shaun explains that he would like to reconcile with his brother who is a Dark Fae while he is a Light one. Bo agrees to try and make that happen. His brother is named Liam and feeds on human greed and Shawn seems to know where Liam might be. Bo gets Dyson to agree to back her up on the search and they leave the bar.

We then find them entering an office which seems to be in the process of being taken away. In the middle of this, a man rants that everyone there is a crook and is taken away by security with Liam (Ben Lewis) taunting the man as he is taken away. Bo then attempts to get Liam to understand that his brother will die by the end of the day, to which he seems not to care for what Shawn did to him in the past.

Shawn in the meantime is driving Kenzi crazy by having the same song played over and over again in the bar among other, seemingly to her, lame things. She finally gets him to try something different and he tells her that he has never kissed a human to which Kenzi slaps him playfully. Bo then returns and tells Shawn about what his brother said about him. Shawn explains that just before a ceremony called The Gathering, which a Fae chooses the side of light or dark, he discovered that money was missing from the family business and told his father about it. They figured out that Liam must have taken the money and had him arrested. Upon getting out of jail, Liam joined the Dark Fae, the only one in their family to do so and the family disowned him. After explaining this, a chandler falls from the ceiling and almost kills Shawn. Bo tells him that she will make Liam understand. Following that, Kenzi takes Shawn out of the bar, steals a car with him, and keeps trying to get him out of his shell.

Dyson and Bo meanwhile stake out Liam’s office in Bo’s car. Bo tells him that she is sorry that this isn’t what he wanted to do for La Shoshain. Dyson tells her that there is no where else he would rather be. Bo laughs at that a bit. Dyson tells her that he is doing everything that he can to protect her and Bo tells him that she trusts him without reservations. The conversation fades away and Bo occupies herself with the book that Trick gave her.

Kenzi and Shawn arrive at the Kavanagh home. We learn that Shawn’s mother passed away recently and that only their Father remains. Their conversation is stiff and formal with little emotion being shared between the two. Shawn’s frustrations make him storm away from his father. Kenzi in the meantime has been looking at the papers on the table Shawn’s father had been looking at and comments that the person he is betting on will likely lose.

Bo and Dyson are still in the car waiting for Liam to appear, Bo comments from the book that the Blood King personally wrote all of the rules of Fae society, that French and German Fae soldiers put down their weapons on La Shoshain during World War I to celebrate it together. After getting a text from Kenzi that she and Shawn were going back to Bo’s apartment, Liam appears and Bo goes to talk to him. She uses her powers on him and discovers that Liam took out a hit on his brother using a Goblin to do the dirty work for him.

Kenzi and Shawn are back at the apartment eating and talking when the Goblin arrives and attacks the pair. Bo and Dyson arrive moments later and Dyson is attacked by the Goblin and is injured. Bo manages to slow him off, at least temporarily, until Dyson can use his gun to stop the Goblin finally. Bo then tells Shawn that his brother put the hit on him. Shawn is furious and disappears from the room. Dyson explains to Bo that Laim’s killing on La Shoshain is against the rules and that the Fae Elders will stop it. Moments later Kenzi tells Bo that she thinks that Shawn went to kill his brother.

Shawn goes to Liam’s office and using one of Bo’s crossbows, attempts to kill him. He fails with his first shot and the two of them argue with each other for a time until Bo, Kenzi and Dyson arrive. Bo stops the pair from fighting by declaring Agallamh. That being a rule that any Fae can force warring parties to have peace talks, and that must be obeyed on La Shoshain. The only thing is that Bo didn’t read all of the details in full. If the talks fail, then the caller of the talks forfeits their life as a sacrifice.

Bo then sees Trick about Agallamh, and he lectures her about using it and how sacred a ceremony it is. Bo pleads with him to tell her how to do it right and he agrees. Shawn and Liam are then seen at the Agallamh, Several rituals are then taken, including the scattering of what looks to be gunpowder on the floor and a sharing of a drink by the two brothers and Bo lighting the gunpowder setting it afire. Trick then tells Bo she needs to have someone chosen to kill her if the Agallamh fails, a person called a Claymore. Dyson takes that duty.

The two brothers tell of what happened in the past and argue over it. They fail to come to an agreement and Liam summons a Goblin to the scene. He then tells Bo that Dyson will kill her and the Goblin will kill his brother because the Agallamh has failed. Kenzi whispers something to Bo and then leaves. Bo gets a pause in the Agallamh and gains some time for Kenzi to return. Dyson takes Trick aside for a moment and tells him that Trick could save Bo. Trick just walks away.

Kenzi in the meanwhile races to get Liam and Shawn’s father and return him to the Agallamh. Trick is seen looking at a series of tools held in a pouch that we saw earlier in the series. Dyson arrives to tell him that it is time to continue, to which he says that he will be there shortly. Liam forces the Agallamh to continue. He calls for closure, gets one of the Fae to second it and Bo is forced to begin to close the ceremony. She stalls for time, talking in a roundabout way until Kenzi barges in with Shawn and Liam’s father in tow. He enters the Agallamh and is asked by Bo why he took the money. After a time he admits to doing so. In the end, Liam and Shawn reconcile, the father takes the blame, and they all agree to mend the fences between them. Kenzi and Shawn embrace happy that it it all over.

But it isn’t. Afterwards, Shawn, Liam, Kenzi, Bo and Dyson leave the Fae Bar and talk for a while around Shawn’s car. The investor that had been thrown out of Liam’s office tries to shoot him, but instead Shawn takes the bullet for him and dies in Kenzi’s arms.

The episode ends first in Bo’s apartment, Bo trying to comfort Kenzi for losing Shawn and the game that Shawn and Kenzi had been playing sitting in front of them on a table. We leave them behind as we look in on Dyson and Trick at the Fae Bar. Dyson is proud of Bo not crumbling in the face of death, Trick asks if he would have killed her. Dyson asks if he would have used his blood to save her. Dyson tries to convince Trick that Bo is strong and deserves to know more. Trick says he is not ready for that. Dyson insists that Bo is and that Trick needs to believe in her and that she will amount to something. Trick says that for her sake he hopes not. He comments that persons that rise to prominence bring pain upon themselves. Dyson raises a glass to Trick and says, “I know. To the Blood King and all that you have sacrificed.” Trick looked embarrassed and replies, “Please don’t ever call me that.” The last image of the episode is Trick and Dyson sharing a drink without another word being spoken.

Fade to black…

Holy smoke… They actually told us what, or rather, who Trick is. So we now know that he is the Blood King of the Fae. Thing is that we actually do not really know all that much about what that means other than to know that the Blood King made the rules that all Fae, Light or Dark, live under. The obvious question that needs to be asked next is, why did he give up that position? Moreover, the bigger question is, what kind of Fae is he?

We also got two pieces of information on Bo, one is that, yes, Lou Ann is most definitely the Mid-wife of Bo and that she is still alive somewhere. The other is that Bo’s mother is named Aife, according to the closed captioning of the episode, or is it Eve which os what it sounded like to me. This fills in two important gaps in Bo’s past that we needed to know.

I was rather pleased that Dyson actually told Bo that he was looking out for her and that she told him that she trusted him no matter what. That marks a huge step in the relationship between them that was needed after last week’s episode. Bo showed more heart, intelligence and action this episode than we have seen in some time. She acted instead of reacting to what was happening and that is a better place for her to be.

Kenzi, oh Kenzi, this was a heart breaking episode for her, she was having some happiness in her life for a time and then, when it looked as if she would have it for certain, the fates took it away. She was played as a strong character with a goal and that goal was to save Shawn. I don’t think this will break Kenzi, but I am expecting her to become more attached to Bo, Hale and Dyson, as she will not want to lose her “family.”

I was thrilled by the background we gained in Fae society, myths and stories, and most of all, the formality of the Agallamh ceremony which was just excellently portrayed to us. It was played as it should have been, a sober thing with rules and actions that mattered to all of the Fae. In contrast to that, La Shoshain was a celebration of the Blood King with all of the merriment that it should have.

Overall, this is the one singular episode that I think sets the future of the series well. It gives us more questions of course, but some that have been with us from the beginning of the story have been answered and that makes for a more interesting and involved story to follow.

My congratulations to the cast and crew for giving us an episode that builds on the past and opens the door to the future…

A new all time high for the series. This is what the series should have been from the beginning. Story lines and ideas that take hold of you and you want to soak up every little bit of it. Lots of Fae mythos shared, secrets hinted at and revealed in some cases. And, most of all, not a reset after the previous episode which made me happy. Another reason why the series deserved a second season and got one this past week.

This Sunday, Episode Ten: While investigating a baffling sex-related murder case, Bo comes into contact with Saskia, a strong, sensuous Succubus who has much to teach her.

At last we see another Succubus in the series. I am expecting her to be evil and a Dark Fae, because, of course, all Succubi have to be evil don’t they? Actually, I hope not, but from the previews this week I hold out little hope that it will be a bit of stereotypical Succubus appearing. What is interesting to me is this Succubus’ name, Saskia… That means protector of mankind… Odd name for a Succubus unless that is actually true…

I can hope.

Succubi Image of the Week 151

For this week’s Succubi, I am going to share a small, and that’s a shame, line artwork of a Succubus… The thing is that I am sure that I have seen this work before, and I think I know the artist, but I can’t confirm anything…

And as usual, that is driving me a little nutty…

Clicking on the image will not give you a larger version of this yummy Succubus and for that I am sorry. If there was a larger one to share I’d share it with you all, but, there isn’t one that I can find…

I love the little kiss that she is blowing into the air, it’s just a neat little added touch in this work, but that’s not the really perfect thing about it. No, what makes this work for me is all of the little details you can see. Her pitchfork, the sinuous tail, her horns and, of course, the latex-life clothing and thigh-high boots she is wearing..

Just a lovely Succubus being sexy and tempting like all Succubi should be…

If anyone has a link to a larger image or an idea of who drew this, please leave a comment!

A Pixie Succubus Costume is a mistake…

This week I am going to share one of those costumes… You know… The ones that my tail and horns twitch over because I cannot understand where the idea came from nor can I see why this is a good idea…

I mean honestly, what was the source of this concept?

Anyway, this costume is called the Devil Pixie Costume and comes with the pair of red devil horns, the one piece dress, a pair of red wings that are made of one large piece of plastic, which attach to the rear of the dress. You also getg a chocker of the same material as the dress and a pair of fingerless arm sleeves to complete this outfit.

The stockings and shoes are not part of the dress and must be purchased separately.

Now I have a lot of problems with this costume. I’ll put one caveat here before I rant a bit on this costume and that is it’s good for dealing with the young trick or treaters that come to your door.

It’s not too sexy really and you aren’t likely to have parents mumbling when they see you, which, depending on your personal views might be a good thing really…

Setting that one point aside, the overall look of this  seems to be too cheap for my liking really, the ragged edges on the dress I do not like, the collar is wrong, and the armlets are an extra touch that really doesn’t do a lot for the overall appearance of this.

The wings might be something useful with another dress, but otherwise they really don’t add a lot here to be honest. This just seems to be a tame, safe costume for those that can’t be really Succubi-like for Halloween…

Which is a shame.

This costume can be found on the internet for about $35 US, which is not an excessive price for this costume and in a pinch for something to wear to a kids Halloween party I might, might mind you, actually wear it…

But I won’t be too thrilled by it I promise you.

I’m giving this one pitchfork out of five. It gets the one pitchfork for the only time it would be something to wear, and that is something very rare.

Temptations 86

Revealing oneself to others means that you have the trust to know that they will be fair to you. The Queen of the Succubi hopes for that always…

Temptations 86

By TeraS and JHB

He caught his breath, and tried for a moment to appear non-plussed.

“You call me a flatterer, yet your words are quite charming and . . .”

Oh, forget being non-plussed!!  He was shocked, and could not lie about it.  This was the Queen of the Succubi, a creature he could scarcely have imagined moments ago!!

He bowed down, aslow as he could.  What does one do in the presence of a Queen.

“Your Majesty.  Yet this does confirm my theory, for you seem much more enigmatic, even inscrutable, than evil.”

Tera looked bemused for a moment as her tail swisched behind her, then she said with a giggle in her voice, “Congratulations… You are the one-billionth person to do that… Now stand up darn it all… I am the Queen but I will be darned if people will do that all the time in my presence…”

Her hands were warm to the touch as she helped him to stand up again. Then she said, “I’m not like other Royalty my dear… All of that formality only serves to put up a barrier between whom we are and what the role says we must be… I have never enjoyed sitting on a throne and waving a hand in demand of something…”

Once he was standing again she reached her left hand to his nose and touched it with one slim finger as she said, “Being the Queen does not mean that you cannot be yourself… It’s better to act as you are than to hide behind the position that word gives… In fact, I do not allow others to call me Queen… I am Tera first. I am me first. All else is second to that…”

Almost words to live by aren’t they?
