A costume for a SheDevil, not a Succubus

Once again this week, I found yet another costume that just doesn’t quite understand that looking sexy comes first when you want to be a Succubus…

I mean… Honestly how hard was this one to create?

Honestly all this seems to be is a mishmash of two costumes that probably weren’t selling well in an effort to clear out stock.

This costume is called the She Devil and comes with a red jumpsuit, a tiger print corset, a glittering pair of red horns on a headband, tiger print glovelettes, and a tiger print tail that matches the corset and glovelettes…

The boots and the pitchfork the model is holding do not come with this costume, nor do they help it one bit really.

The costume sells for around $40 US at various sites on the web, it’s easy enough to find.

But seriously, why would you want to?

This isn’t sexy, looks really lousy, the boots don’t help the look at all, the tiger print parts don’t make sense. Why would her tail be a tiger print pattern? It just makes no sense whatsoever.

This just looks wrong for a Succubus or a Devil Girl. There is so little sexy in it, it looks lousy and it won’t be on my list for next year…

I can’t think of one way to fix this, it’s pretty much a lost cause and that’s a shame…

One quarter of a pitchfork out of five if for no other reason than the horns look mostly okay but are not the best I have seen…

Temptations 91

He watched the two angelkitties bid farewell to Tera, and the thought “Lucky kitties” popped into his mind unbidden and flew off as quickly as the two creatures had.

The forest of purple-leaved, green trunked trees gave him a nano-moment’s worth of pause, but the gasp he let out was much more about it’s strange, fascinating beauty.  The picnic looks wonderful and, despite the pang of loss at having her let go of him (a much more noticeable pang than any in his tummy), he followed her to the blanket, helped her to sit, and thedn sat next to her.

“The weather pales in comparison to the company I’ve been given, and I will happily share whatever you wish.”  He takes her glass, and the thermos, “Shall I pour?”

Tera smiled and nodded her head to him graciously as she replied, “Please and thank you…”

With that, she looked into the basket and removed a small serving tray holding a grouping of deviled eggs, and offered them to him to select the first one to taste…

Tera explained with a smile, “I know that they are deviled eggs but I promise you that there is nothing devilish about them…”

He smiles back, “I would never expect anything devilish about the eggs,” he takes a bite, “but they are delicious.  I see that, among other things, I need to ask you to teach me recipes.”

He ponders the devilled eggs before him: “You know, this particular delicacy is an example of how soemone, with simple ingredients and a bit of care, can make something so much more than what it was,” he takes another bite, and smiles at her, “and certainly much more than they appear to be before sampled.

“Why do I suspect that this place, and its inhabitants, and most especially you, are in that way, very much like this delicacy?  By which I mean, made with care to be more than what once was, and certainly more than it all apprears to be?”

Tera nibbled on her egg for a moment in contemplation over his words before replying, “The horns and tail are usually a dead give away aren’t they? Imagine the reaction if I would appear like I am to most people… Automatically the assumption is that all heck will break loose and they are in for quite a bit of trouble…”

A little twinkle in her eyes gave a hint to her true feelings as she continued, “But then some have the ability to see beyond the obvious and to the truths beneath the surface… I think that perhaps the outer trappings that my kind have are simple a method to make one see or not…. That seeing is of course what they wish to see…”

She patted the picnic basket and added, “Lots of recipes to share… Though I do suggest that you don’t make my toaster mad… Toastie is a little bit… Odd.. At times…”

The smile she gave him would either be one of amusement or understanding… But was she kidding?

That was the question…

Chapter 14

After Camilla left, Tom spent the next thirty minutes grilling Bill over what he had done, what he was doing, and whether anyone in his company might have taken it upon themselves to attack Brent and his wife. He came to the conclusion that, while Bill wasn’t directly involved in what happened, Tom could not dismiss the possibility that someone who worked for Bill had done the deed … or that Bill was hiding something from him.

That bothered him.

It wasn’t that he didn’t believe what Bill had said; it was the sheer stupidity of Bill blowing up and going off on a tirade over the injustice that he perceived had been done to him.

Tom didn’t enjoy pushing his old friend that way. Worse was trying to break all of his explanations and reasons why he wasn’t responsible for what had happened. Most of the reasons made sense—most of them—but one exchange just about pushed Bill over the edge, and that worried him.

Tom sighed and paced in front of the offices again.  He was sure that the workers inside were looking at him oddly, but he didn’t care: Bill was not quite cleared; that one piece of evidence would damn him in court if it came to that.

Tom hoped that it wouldn’t.

It wasn’t much evidence, but it was enough that fingers could be pointed, witnesses found, and, in the end, Bill could be sent to jail for a long time. But when you are seen threatening someone with death, and promising to harm his family … that is too much to ignore.

Bill had explained that he was madder than hell. That something had snapped inside of him when Brent was nearby. “Something ’bout that guy rubs me the wrong way. He’s just so damn smug, knows all of the secrets, stuff that you don’t want out. I dunno how he does it, but he knows where to be and what to look for. Damn frustratin’. He’d be a great spy. Wonder if he is one.”

Tom continued to pace around for a while. He didn’t know where Camilla had gone; he assumed she would return to the office when she was done talking to Billy. He assumed that she would, at least. She seemed like a responsible woman, if a bit irritating. It hit him, then, why Bill would be driven crazy by Brent.

Tom wondered if that was part of those people’s nature.

He watched Bill’s staff run their errands in and out of the office, most of them ignoring his pacing as he waited for Camilla to return. In his mind, Tom was putting together the questions that needed to be put to Bill next. He was, after all, and by his own admission, someone Tom needed to grill for information.

Coming to the end of one of his walks down the corridor, he turned without looking and walked head-on into someone: a short, blonde, Asian someone. She stood in front of him, a pile of files and papers surrounding her scattered on the floor. For a moment, her dark brown eyes regarded him, and then a flush of embarrassment passed over her and she knelt to the floor, beginning to gather what she had dropped moments before.

Tom knelt with her: “I’m sorry, please, let me help you.”

She didn’t reply, save for a slight nod, her focus for the moment on the mess around her rather than Tom beside her.

After a few minutes, Tom handed her the last file and, as she finally looked at him again, said, “I’m Tom.”

The blush was still there as she replied, “Tenshi. Please forgive my clumsiness.”

“It was my fault; should have been paying attention instead of being a hazard to women.”

That made her smile just slightly, “I … thank you for the help.”

“You’re welcome. Have you been with Bill long?”

Clutching the files to her chest as she stood she managed, “A year now. Please excuse me. I must attend to my duties …”

She then rushed off again on whatever errand she was on, leaving Tom standing there alone again, pondering what she had said to him, and, more importantly, why she was so shook up over what had happened.

Camilla came into view soon after, her heels clicking on the concrete floor of the warehouse. Tom noticed that Billy wasn’t there, and he wasn’t too pleased about that. He had been intending to grill Billy next, thanks to his father’s admission, but would now have to hunt him down and corner him. Filing away the thoughts on his old friend, he called out to Camilla, “Where’s Billy? Have to talk to him.”

“No, you don’t. He’s not to blame for this: he nor his father.”

Tom rubbed his chin a moment, then said, “You got a feeling or something?”

She looked around, then nodded and explained, “Let’s just say that my … ‘feelings’ … are pretty accurate.”

Turning away, he replied, “You’ll have to explain that to me sometime. Soon would be great. You know, before I have to toss them both in jail.”

Camilla looked at him curiously, then followed behind. Tom seemed to be in a rush to get out of the warehouse, and she found herself running a bit to keep up with him. Then she asked, “Do you have something to charge them with?”

“Enough to charge Bill: making threats. He was foolish in front of a lot of people. That’s a big no-no in things like this.”

“Passions of the heart can make us all say silly things we don’t mean at the moment they are said.”

“Passions can and have killed in the past, you know.”

Camilla had finally caught up to him, and, as she walked beside, started to lecture Tom a bit, “Those are not passions. Those are misguided beliefs and desires that pull one away from what is important, pull one inward, toward oneself. It is easier to fall to darker desires and temptations than it is to hold onto the more important things within.”

“You know, I don’t understand all of that stuff. I’m just a simple man. I haven’t got the time to deal with theories and wishes. I deal with facts. Give me some of those and I’ll be able to deal with ‘em.”

“All right, then.  Fact: Bill said that he would never harm a lady. Fact: you agree that he would not either. Therefore, he cannot be the one to have done the deed nor order it done.”

“Okay; see, that’s not a fact.  That is conjecture.”

“Is it? I don’t think so. I have …”

“A feeling? You said that before. What does that mean?”

The pair exited the warehouse, but Camilla did not speak until she was quite sure that no one else would hear them talk.

“I … We … know people by their souls, Thomas. When I touched your hand, I knew that you were a good man. I also knew that you have a troubled past and that you have lost someone close to you.”

Tom’s look was a mix of shock and concern, but, before he could say anything, she continued:  “I did not look deeply into you. I did not look into your memories; I could have, but, because I respect you, and you did not give me permission, I did not. All I knew was that you cared about what happened to Patricia, for whatever reason you had, and so …”

“And so that was your lure to get me involved in this …”

“You did not have to.”

He stopped walking: “You know, I feel like I was pushed into this. That you and Tera conspired to get me involved and make me stay in it.”

“No. We did not. I gave you the card. I gave you the chance to walk away.  You decided that you needed to find out more and you came into our world. Do not confuse the sight of an open door with walking through it. You had the choice. You made it.”

Tom wanted to rant at her, but her logic was sound. He did poke his nose in, and he was deep in it now. With a sigh, he asked, “How much do you know about Bill and his son?”

“Enough to know that Bill has not killed anyone, ever. I can say the same for Billy, as well.”

“Okay, explain that … in simple words so that my mind doesn’t break.”

Camilla laced her hands together and explained, “If you are dark, or have been touched by the dark, if you have killed or done something that serves the dark and makes it gain power, you are marked, in your soul. If I touch someone like that, I’ll know. The same is true of someone who has been touched by the light, but it is different.”

“Weird. Sort of sounds like you are a divining rod.”

She giggled a bit and pointed at her forehead: “Divine I am not. Or at least I do not appear to be.”

Tom couldn’t help the smile, “Right. I forgot about that.’

“What most people are, generally, are shades of grey. That’s normal, and what we expect. But there are always exceptions to that rule. If either of them had killed, they would not be grey; they would be dark. I don’t sense that in either of them.”

“So, you give them a pass?”

“I give them more than a pass: there is nothing in them that even hints they are involved. But …”

“But what?”

“I asked Billy for a favor.”

That stopped Tom in his tracks. Pinching the bridge of his nose, he asked, “What kind of favor?”

“I can’t say.”

“Oh come on. He’s a suspect in spite of your feelings about him.  You can’t just go and trust someone because …”

“I can and I did. In the end I gave him some comfort and, in response to that, he agreed to do something for me. He will. He’s as honourable as his father.”

“Did you tell him anything more than what Bill knows?”

“No. We did talk about his mother a while. He misses her. He does not want to lose his father as well.”

Tom stared off into space for a time before ending the conversation with, “We don’t have the evidence to clear Bill. Right now, he’s the only suspect we’ve got.”

“Then we should find more.”

Tom smiled again, “Right. Look Camilla, I know that you … work … differently then we do. I get that. But you have to see that we have rules and laws here and I have to enforce them. That means that without a piece of paper, a videotape, a confession … hell, anything at all that points me away from Bill, I’m going to arrest him real soon.”

“You will be wrong then.”

“I’ll have to live with that.”

“You will not be able to. I can see that.”

“I know. But that’s part of the job. Sometimes, I think that I sold my soul for the job.”

With that confession, Tom whistled for a cab. It didn’t take long for one to pull up to the curb. He opened the door and let her go in first. As she did so, Camilla told him, with a serious tone in her voice, “You cannot sell that which is held by another, Thomas.”

He climbed into the cab, gave their destination and, as the taxi drove them away, Tom’s memories came back to haunt him again … as they always did.

As they departed, Billy watched from one of the windows in the upper floor of the warehouse. He liked Camilla, liked her a lot. After they had left, he stood there by the window, watching the traffic pass by, and thought about what Camilla had asked him to do. He didn’t know why exactly he had agreed to it, maybe it was just wanting to do something when, so far, there was nothing he could do for his father.

With a sigh he rummaged in his pockets until he found his phone, opened it, and made a call.

“It’s me. Yah. No, no they didn’t arrest Dad. I … trust them. Have to trust someone, don’t I? Anyway, I need somethin’ done … today.”

Billy turned away from the window and walked off into the gloom around him, doing what he hoped would help his father in the end …

Chapter 15

Jane awoke to hissing. For a moment, she thought it was a snake or something similar; she startled and tried to move, but then heard a voice.

“No, don’t move. Just lay there a minute, whoever you are.”

It took another moment for her memories to come rushing back to her; then she recognized the voice. It was John, that guy that she had talked to before … before everything went black. From the sound of his voice, Jane assumed that she didn’t look like that girl who was on his mind when she first met him.

In the next moment, she tried to move her hands towards her face and the source of that hissing sound, which she now realized was an oxygen mask. A firm hand pushed her hands back down, and she opened her eyes to see John standing above her:  “Look. Just stay there and don’t move.”

He looked around for a moment and then, to Jane’s surprise, flicked one of her horns with a finger, the “thunk” of that echoing in her mind for a moment. Jane started to panic; if someone could see her horns … His next words to her didn’t help a lot, either.

“I know you’re not who you look like. I called Jenni. She’s at her office. You aren’t her. You look like her, but you aren’t her. Now, listen carefully to me: if you try to run, people will see you. Jenni is on her way down here right now. If someone sees you, there will be questions that you probably don’t want to answer. Besides, you have smoke inhalation, you’re weak, and you aren’t going to get very far. Now, nod if you understand me.”

Jane did so.

“Okay. You’re in the back seat of my car. You have an oxygen mask on, and you are under a blanket so no one can see you right now. Just stay there and I’ll get you out of here, all right?”

Another nod, then Jane closed her eyes again.

The next time she opened them, the oxygen mask was gone, but the blanket was still there, and she was still moving. Sitting up gingerly, she held her head in her hands while she managed a question: “Where am I?”

“Still in my car; I’m trying to decide what to do with you.”

Jane then looked up and found herself looking at … Jenni; with horns … green horns. The only thing she managed was a soft, “Damn” before she fell back into the seat with a thud.

“So tell me: What’s your name, anyway? You know mine already, so I’ll skip the introduction.”

“I’m Jane.”

“Jane … Jenni … I can see how I could be confused. No, wait, you were Jenni when we first met. Now, you are Jenni with horns.” He looked in the mirror at her, “So. Are they real? The horns, I mean. And is that what you look like or is it all makeup or something?”

Jane’s first instinct was to lie and tell him that was all it was. But then she recognized the problem with that lie: he’d ask to see the horns come off or the makeup be pulled away. Then another thing came to her: she had been out cold for a while. He could have checked and seen that it was all real. Lying to him would be a mistake.

So she said the only thing she could say at that moment: “You’d never believe me even if I tried to explain it to you.” Gaining a little bit of confidence, she added, “So. What are you going to do, then; police or something?”

John smiled thinly, replying with a flat, “Or something,” as he continued to drive, leaving them both with their own thoughts …

Jane’s were spinning around one thing:  it would be disastrous if beings like her, the ones that were thought of as being legends, were discovered to be quite real. Her next thought was that Tera was going to kill her … or, even worse, be disappointed in her, and that thought was much worse than the first one she’d found. But the one that she held onto was: how she could get out of this mess she found herself in?

She looked out the window of the car and watched the city passing by.  She didn’t say anything else for the moment, in part because she wasn’t sure that John wouldn’t hurt her, but mainly because she needed to get focused again and try to make herself not look like Jenni any longer.

John’s thoughts, on the other hand, were slightly more focused. He wanted to know exactly what the hell was going on. The shock he felt when he touched those … horns? … on Jenni’s … no, Jane’s … head told him that something was seriously wrong here.  He didn’t believe in legends or tales of the beyond.  No, what he believed in was logic and proof. Thing was that here he had proof that there were–and even now he found this impossible to believe–demons in his world. That still didn’t sit right with him.

Then he made a decision and turned the car to follow it. He needed a doctor:  someone to tell him if Jane really was what she seemed to be or if it was just a fluke or some cosmetic surgery or something like that.  He found himself liking that possibility, as that idea would fit into his world a hell of a lot better than the other one, which kept prodding him as being the truth.  Looking once more in the mirror, he said, “Better put your seatbelt on. You’re going to be there for a while.” John made a hard right and continued to drive, occasionally looking in the mirror at Jane.

Jane did so, not so much out of caution, but to try and lull him into what she hoped would be a false sense of security. The pair didn’t say another word to each other for the rest of the drive, but Jane was curious about where they were going and what John was planning.

Their destination was clear when he made a left and drove down a ramp into an underground garage. They dropped down four floors and then came to a stop in front of a garage door.  John pressed a button on an intercom and just said his name to it. The door rolled up, they entered, and Jane looked behind to see the door close again.

After parking in one of several spaces there, John helped Jane out of the car.  “Don’t try to run. You can’t get out, and there are cameras watching us. Just stay calm, all right?”

Jane didn’t feel calm, but she nodded her head in understanding when he took a hold of her arm and guided her away from the car.

Two sets of double doors, one short elevator ride, and Jane found herself in an examination room. After she was offered a chair there, John left the room and Jane heard the door lock behind him as he left.

Jane tried to figure out a way to escape before he came back, but there were no windows, no exits but the one they had come through. She tried to teleport from the room … but nothing happened.

With a sigh she walked over to a small mirror that hung on one wall and looked herself over. The horns she recognized as her own, but everything else wasn’t her. She found herself missing the familiar eyes, face, and body that she had known for centuries … and wondering if she would ever see them again.

John hadn’t returned, and she found herself trying to figure out what trap she had sprung back in that house. It was a magic trap, obviously, a powerful one if it had locked her into this form and taken away her powers … She couldn’t change her appearance, couldn’t teleport, couldn’t cast a spell or use her powers of seduction …

Or could she? Running a finger over her lips, she considered whether or not she should try to seduce John, try to confuse him long enough to make her escape. It seemed like an option.

Then the door opened, and John walked in with someone else …

“Well there she is, Doc. What do you think?”

Jane turned to see John standing there with another man, who was obviously “Doc.” This older man with thick glasses and a gruff voice answered, “Well, she’s alive, John; something I don’t see a lot of anymore.” Then he walked over to her, looked her over for a minute, and then said, “So, you want to tell us who you are and why you look like someone he knows? Oh, and, if you want, tell us how it is that you have horns on your head?”

Jane shrugged, “He knows my name.”

Doc nodded, “Right. Jane. You have a last name?”

She shrugged again, “Call me Jane Doe.” She paused and then, remembering the description of the person whom Camilla had met when claiming Patricia, bit her lip. For a moment, she considered thanking him for looking after her sister, but decided that would be too much information to give them. Then she said, “You’ve seen enough of us, haven’t you?”

Doc pulled back a bit from that comment and softened his approach slightly: “Look, just because I work in a morgue doesn’t mean that I’m not a doctor, okay?”

She rubbed her hands together a moment and then said, “I’m sorry. That was uncalled for.”

Doc then turned around and pushed John out the door. Then he tossed a gown to her. “Get dressed in that. I’ll have a nurse in here to examine you in a few minutes.”

Jane watched him leave, watched the door close, and heard it lock again, and then she smiled.

Outside the room, Doc and John waited patiently for a nurse to arrive to actually perform the physical. Regulations were that such things had to be done by a woman–for various legal reasons nether of them cared to try to figure out. It was a lot less stress to just do it and avoid the investigations, should they come.

The sound of footsteps on tile made them both look to see a redhead in a nurse’s uniform come around the corner. Doc nodded at her, “Good day, Patti. Sorry to keep you here at work, but I need you to do something for me.”

She gave a nod, “Sure, Doc. What’s going on?”

He pointed a finger in the direction of the room that Jane was in, “Do a physical on the woman in there, please. Her name’s Jane Doe.”

She looked at Doc oddly, but nodded and walked away from the pair, who turned to the other side of the corridor and entered Doc’s office. Doc opened a drawer of one of the filing cabinets and pulled out a bottle of whisky. When he offered it to John, the reply was a shake of his head.

Doc, nonetheless, opened the bottle and poured some into a coffee cup, “So, you got a mystery, don’t you? She tell you anything yet? I mean, other than a name that can’t possibly be her name?”

“Nothing much. I mean, she looks like Jenni, but it’s not her. I know that for certain, because Jenni is at headquarters. Otherwise, I don’t have a damn clue what is going on here, Doc.”

There were two quick knocks, and Doc didn’t even look up as a muffled voice came through the door, “All ready for you, Doctor; report is in your inbox, the door is locked, and she’s safe there. If you don’t need me, I’m running late and want to take off.”

Doc called out, “Go home, Patti. Thanks.”

They both heard the sound of her walking away. Doc finished his drink, and then the two of them left the office, Doc grabbing the report as he led the way. Opening the folder, he mumbled to himself about height, weight, and other various things. Then John asked, “What about the horns?”

Doc stopped in mid-stride, “There’s nothing here about horns.” He looked at the edge of the folder, cursed, and ran down the hallway.

They opened the door to the examining room to find Jane lying on the table, a sheet over her body, face turned towards the wall. Doc walked over and touched her on the shoulder. She rolled back towards them …

… and it wasn’t Jane.

It was Patti, a blessed-out expression on her face as she sighed, softly…

Doc took hold of her shoulders, shook her and yelled, “What happened, Patti?”

What happened was Jane.

As Doc and John realized that she was gone, Jane was exiting the building wearing Patti’s nursing uniform. Quickly walking to the curb, she hailed a cab and drove away, a satisfied smile on her lips as she recalled what had happened with the nurse moments before …

Chapter 16

The taxi carrying Tom and Camilla pulled up to a small newspaper stand on the corner of Broadway and Lakeshore Boulevard. From the outside, it didn’t look remarkable in any real way. The sides of it were old sheets of plywood nailed together ages ago, hooks and shelves holding various magazines and newspapers, attempting to get the attention of the passersby, that they might have a look and see what was offered.

The pair got out of the cab and it left, leaving them looking at the person who was running the stand.  A frail-looking man sat on a milk crate surrounded by his wares, a pair of dark glasses over his eyes and a white cane in his right hand, a working man’s pair of jeans and a sweater keeping him warm in the breeze around the place. Camilla asked Tom, “This is a suspect?”

Tom nodded and mumbled, “Sort of,” then just walked over to the stand. Without saying a word, he reached out a hand towards one of the more adult magazines that sat on a shelf just behind the proprietor. His fingers were about to touch the pages when a gruff voice barked, “Listen buddy, you pay and then you play with yourself. Not the other way around.”

Tom chuckled, “Not my style, Charlie. So, where’s your wife?”

“Well, I’ll be darned; the fuzz himself. You haven’t been around here in years, cop.”

“You’ve managed to keep your nose clean, so I haven’t had a reason to bust you. Now your wife, on the other hand … what has she been up to? Anything that I should know about?”

Charlie pointed a thumb to the building behind him, “Not my business and you know it. She’s got her thing, I got mine. If you want to know, go ask her. And leave the magazine here or pay for it.”

Tom dug into a pocket, pulled out a twenty, and put it into Charlie’s hand, “Still don’t know why you stay with her.”

“Love makes you do stupid things, kid. Now git!  You standing here is messing with my business.”

Tom tucked the magazine under an arm and then motioned to Camilla to follow him. They approached a tall glass-and-steel skyscraper with a nameplate that read “TFX Incorporated” above the main doors. Camilla didn’t say anything to Tom until they were in the elevator, but then the questions started …

“What’s going on, Thomas?”

“Welcome to TFX Incorporated, the country’s biggest purveyor of porn magazines, videos, and toys of all descriptions, with a side business of laundering money for the mob–at least they did in the past. I haven’t heard anything illegal about them for about three years now.  They got their fingers burned back then; the CEO paid a huge fine and then was pushed out of the company in favour of his wife.”

“Who is that?”

“You just met him: Charlie Drake. Took a lot out of the guy and he cut himself loose from the company to keep out of jail. Plea bargains and so on.”

“Is he really blind?”

“What’s she like?”

Tom answered by handing Camilla the magazine and saying, “That’s her on the cover. She’s got an exhibitionist streak in her a mile wide.”

Camilla looked at the magazine in amazement. On the cover was a platinum blonde Barbie doll of a woman who looked as if she had been dipped in black liquid latex and then allowed to dry. For a moment, Camilla tried to remember if any of her Sisters looked like this, but she drew a blank. Then she realized that not even a pink tail would be that over-the-top in her appearance for whatever reason there was.

They did, after all, have a reputation.

Then there was the sound of a bell, and the doors opened to reveal the company lobby. To one side, a young blonde girl in pigtails sat at a clear plastic desk that revealed she was wearing a schoolgirl’s outfit, if over-sexualized. She was chewing bubblegum to complete the look. To the other side of the space stood eleven men in three-piece suits, holding briefcases and cell phones, their eyes hidden behind mirrored sunglasses. And, in the middle of the room, only a few short steps away from Camilla and Tom, the woman from the magazine stood.

Tom looked over his shoulder at Camilla, “Say hello to Ginger.”

Tom gave a slight nod to the blonde behind the desk and a grunt, “That’s Mary Ann.”

Camilla rolled her eyes but didn’t say anything else.

Ginger closed the distance between them and then with a cruel smirk on her lips purred, “Hello Dick; are you here to put me in cuffs, or are you looking for a hot three-way with your doll?”

Tom could almost feel the burn coming from Camilla at those words, but continued, “Sorry, slut.  Business is business and I can’t afford the ticket to ride.”

“Well I could give you a freebie, I like the babe with you … She must be a lot of fun when you get her screaming …”

Camilla just continued to remain quiet while the two talked, her eyes looking Ginger over, but nothing more.

Tom just smiled, “You have no idea, Ginger. Now, you want to call off your dogs so we all can have a nice chat in your office?”

She shook her head, “Nuh-uh, Dick. The boys tell me that I need them there to make sure you don’t weasel stuff out of me.”

Tom was about to press her a little harder when Camilla moved in front of him: “Oh come on, Ginger honey … If you are nice to us, you might get something from me in return …” Then she reached out a hand to stroke Ginger’s right forearm.

Camilla paused in mid-stroke and her eyes hardened. Then she focused all of her attention on Ginger, ignoring Tom for the moment.

Ginger’s eyes fluttered and then she purred, “mmm … Like what?”

Camilla moved closer, one hand now pressing the small of Ginger’s back as she purred in response, “Your pussy is all wet and needy right now, isn’t that right, slut? You would love me to be on my knees licking your twat and making you cum so hard, wouldn’t you?”

Tom moved to break the two women apart, but a sharp look from Camilla brought him up short for the moment. Something was happening, but he didn’t have any idea of what it was.

But while they were effecting everyone around him, Tom was only barely aware of something being wrong. He didn’t find the need to do what Camilla was telling the others.

But what were truly unsettling were the white eyes that stared up almost lifelessly and the little whispers of, “I Obey” that came out in a needy voice. Tom had, by that point, finally gotten his gun out of its holster and was pointing it at the floor.  “Camilla, just what is going on?”

Jane had been very quiet since she left in the cab. At first, she had been quite pleased with herself: she had managed to get away from John and his friend, and she didn’t do any real harm to the nurse in order to do that.  But she knew full well that she hadn’t been as neat and tidy as Tera would have wanted. She had been taught that it just wasn’t well enough to make an exit. It was important to cover one’s tracks, too.

Jane knew she really hadn’t done that. She wasn’t worried about the cabbie: he was, after all, a troll, and so the sight of her horns resulted in a raised eyebrow and nothing more. And directing him back to their home in this world wouldn’t be a surprise, either; the trolls had been there often enough that simply asking to be taken home would result in her being taken there.

No, the problem was that Tom and his friend had seen her. With horns, too. She looked at herself in the rear view mirror of the cab for the umpteenth time. It wasn’t her: not what she should look like, not who she was. But her grey horns were there, and that gave her a little comfort, at least.

She rubbed a finger against one of them and wondered how she had been forced into this form, why she couldn’t shift from it but could still use her powers to persuade others to do what she wanted them to.

It was confusing, and that bothered her more than anything else. For an instant she cursed the fact she was a grey tail and all that meant. She had been moody before she became a Succubi, but, since then, her Tail had also made her very cool towards others. That wasn’t a plus most of the time; she hadn’t found an Eternal, and she blamed her Tail for that problem.

She sighed and pushed that thought from her when she realized that the cab had arrived back at the brownstone she called home. Then she realized that she didn’t have any money to pay for the cab ride. Knowing that the troll wouldn’t let her leave within paying she explained, “The Realm office will pay your fare. Come inside and the Receptionist will take care of it.”

The troll, a short, squat man with a long, black beard, just grunted, turned off the cab, and got out. Jane followed a moment later and they entered the building. And there she was. The Succubi they all knew only as “The Receptionist.” She was in her usual place, not by the main doors, but at the bottom of the staircase that led to Tera’s office.  She had a red tail and horns like Tera’s, raven hair too, but in a short cut rather than Tera’s longer mane. Her green eyes were puzzled as Jane approached. For a moment, Jane was worried that she wouldn’t be recognized; that would be very bad for her.

They looked at each other for a moment, and then, without a word, she opened a drawer in her desk. The troll was handed an envelope, then a dismissive wave sent him away. Jane didn’t move from where she stood, knowing full well that angering this Succubi would mean nothing but bad things for her.

The Receptionist calmly observed, “Jane, you’ve changed.”

“Not willingly.”

“I see.”

This was the part that Jane worried about more than anything. If she was refused now, there was no way she would ever be able to see Tera or the Realm or anyone else she knew again.  And that made her eyes glisten as the thought of being alone sent a shiver up her spine.

“Where is your tail?”

“I… I can’t change from what you see.”

The Receptionist’s tapping of a fingernail against the surface of her desk was worrying. Jane knew that was a sign that a decision had been made about her; good or bad, she didn’t know, but she knew that, whatever else happened, that wouldn’t change.

“Was it your fault?”

“I was overconfident … and stupid.”

The tapping stopped. “At least you learned something. Make sure you tell Tera that …”

Then the Receptionist turned away, her focus now on some papers on her desk.  Jane rushed by and climbed the stairs, hoping that Tera would be as understanding …

Another Succubus T-shirt

I found another Succubus T-shirt on Zazzle this past week… Now it’s not something I would wear, but as something for a Con or something like that, I suppose it might be okay…

This work is by the artist known as Delphine Lévesque Demers, who is famous for her fantasy art. You can find her site at: And if you want to purchase the T-shirt, you can find it on here.

I rather like the look of the Succubus in this work, an outfit that is just right for a Succubus, a lovely pose and overall composition… The only thing that I don’t really like is the skull she is sitting on and the odd way her tail ends…

Still, while perhaps not my favourite work from this artist, it, like all of her works are beautiful in their own ways…

A Nude WoW Succubus YouTube…

This week’s YouTube is mostly just to show that, yes, there is a way to show the Warcraft Succubus in the nude if you have the right patch for your copy of the game…

The question is, really, why would you want to?

To be honest the quality of this isn’t that good and really, since there is nothing that you can really do with her like this, why would you bother?


My particular bias is, as always, that she has horns, which I don’t particularly like. I understand that the quality of video game images isn’t that wonderful, there have been improvements since the time that Warcraft came out.

So the question is…

When are they going to do a complete graphics update to the game?

Comparing it to the newer games, like Halo, Warcraft just doesn’t cut it anymore as far as I am concerned…

So then, what would I like to see?

If nothing else, please update the Succubi in the game to something sexier and more interesting… The whip actions and comments they make are quite old now and well worn out to a lot of people I think.

The popularly of the Warcraft Succubus in cosplaying hasn’t diminished one bit, I don’t honestly expect it to never do that. But really, can’t we have something that looks better now?

I mean, the figurines that have been produced look quite good overall, why can’t they put that quality of detail into the Succubi?

It might even make me like them a lot more than I do…

Love, Blood and Pain for the Lost Girl…

Something puzzles me about Lost Girl. Why is it that you have a pair of Succubi going to fight each other and instead of using their powers, they have to use weapons on  each other? Am I missing something here?

Honestly, wouldn’t you expect that a battle of Succubi would involve sex?

I would.

Episode thirteen, the season finale of the Lost Girl TV series was this week. People blow up, others are killed, Bo meets her Mom, gets grounded and then fights her to the death, Dyson loses what matters most, Trick sacrifices himself, Lauren returns, Hale and Kenzi get fifth wheels a bit… Oh and there is cake. Beefcake to be exact…

This will be the last review of an episode of Lost Girl for the first season as it ended this week… I will be adding this episode to the SuccuWiki today, but won’t be adding my commentary to the articles as that is what the Tale is for….

Bo discovers that the hardest barriers to her life that she must cross are…

Blood Lines

The season one finale begins with Bo (Anna Silk) and Dyson (Kristen Holden-Reid) in bed together. Bo tells him never to scare her like he did when he almost died. Dyson is confused and asks if Bo forgives him for everything. She does not answer and they switch positions, Bo now being on it. Except that it isn’t Bo, she has turned into Saskia (Inga Cadranel) and attacks him with the words “Of course I do lover.” Dyson screams and we find that it was a dream and he is at Bo’s place, in bed, Bo sitting on the edge of the bed watching him. Dyson tries to explain what happened, but Bo comments that she saw Saskia controlling him and trying to kill him. Dyson tries to apologize, but Bo brushes it off saying that she understands, that Saskia is a Succubus and that it really was her fault for not telling him about Saskia in the first place when she had the chance. She then tries to make light of things, noting that she has a new cool power to bring the dead back to life that she used on Dyson, but he insists that he needs to explain something to her. He tells her that Saskia is not who Bo thinks she is, and that she is her Mother and that Dyson has been expecting her to come after Bo for some time. The scene changes to Saskia watching two men attacking a third man. In the course of this scene, Saskia admits to being “mentally unstable”, she head butts the man,  the man she is having beaten up we discover is a Light Fae Elder, who we find out last was named Elder Ellis. Eventually she has one of her man stab the Elder through the back and kill him, Saskia taking the Elder’s hat as he falls to the floor. She then opens a list and checks the Elder off it before walking off with the comment of “One down, let’s go start us a war boys!” in her usual flippant and slightly crazy sounding mannerism.

After the opening credits we return to see Kenzi (Ksenia Solo) reading a romance novel an commenting to herself on the lead male character in it. As Bo and Dyson storm into the room, she drops that book and picks up a comic book, pretending to read it.  Seeing that Bo and Dyson are having a fight, she attempts to leave, but when she hears Bo ask how long Dyson has known who her Mother is, she stays and listens to the fight between them. We discover that Dyson knew who that was before he met Bo and that he was trying to tell her the truth the night before all hell broke loose. Bo is devastated by the admission and is even more shocked when Dyson tells her that the story about her past was Trick’s to tell and she goes to see him.

At the bar, Bo confronts him and Trick explains that he let Bo’s Mother down long before she was born. He explains that Saskia was of Trick’s clan, that the Fae had been at war for a long time and he had grow tired of it. Peace was not possible in the normal way so he forced one. Dyson explains that Trick is a Blood Sage and that whatever he writes in his own blood comes to pass. Kenzi thinks this is a great power to have, but Trick tells her that power such as that comes with a terrible price. Trick attempted to make the peace stick, but there are always those that cannot forgive for peace. Saskia, or as she is more accurately known Aife, would not forgive and lead a small rebellion that killed one of the Dark Fae leaders. She was caught, then escaped, asking Trick for help. He refused and handed her over to the Dark Fae for execution. But the Dark Fae did not kill her, Trick did not find out about that for some time after that happened, and Aife has been plotting to get her revenge against Trick since that time. Bo asks the questions why Aife would befriend her and attack Dyson to which Trick has no idea. Trick then explains that he has prepared for this and attempts to get Bo to agree to leave the city and be hidden away, but she refuses. She needs to hear her Mother’s side of the story and about her own past from her as this is the one thing that still matters to her.

We then move to Bo’s place where she and Kenzi arrive, Bo taking a drink and Kenzi trying to recap what information she has heard. She summaries that into “Saskia is Aife and Aife is your Mom and Dyson banged your Mom.” Bo then comments that she cannot trust her friends anymore and she is alone. Kenzi looks hurt at this and asks if she is included in what Bo just said. Bo telsl her that they are “always good.” The discussion then turns to Bo’s feelings about her Mom, which are a mixed bag of emotions, though she admits that her mother is a “kind of a big crazy bitch.” Bo then comments that this time she is making the decisions about what to do next. Kenzi asks her how they can find Aife. Bo tells her that they begin with seeing Lauren because Bo hopes that she will learn how to defend herself against her Mother.

Dyson is still with Trick at the same time and asks why he has judged himself so harshly for so long. The answer Trick gives is that he has his reasons. Dyson tells him that he was a King and he did what he had to do. Dyson also tells Trick that it was a relief to no longer have secrets to hold in him. Trick then tells Dyson that he must get to Bo and make her understand that Aife has only ill intentions to her, but Dyson tells him that Bo will not listen any longer to him.

We then see Bo at Lauren’s lab. Lauren (Zoie Palmer) is dealing with the murder of the Light Fae Elder from the beginning of the episode and tries to brush Bo off. When Bo sees the body she asks if the Elder was killed by a Succubus, but Lauren tells her that it was something sharp and pointy that did the deed. Lauren asks why Bo needs to understand how to protect herself from Succubi, but Bo refuses to tell her why. Lauren then suggests she talk to The Ash, but Bo dismisses that possibility as well. In the end, Lauren agrees to find out what she can, but makes Bo promise that she will take the time afterwards to talk to her so that Lauren can explain herself and why she did what she did to Bo in the past. Bo reluctantly agrees to this. Kenzi then says she needs to see someone and will see Bo back at their place.

We then see Hale (K.C. Collins) waiting for Kenzi on a street somewhere in the city. He tries to make small talk with her, but Kenzi realizes that something is going on as Dyson appears as well. Kenzi tells Hale off and starts to storm off, but Dyson tries to make her listen. Kenzi tells Dyson that they trusted him and he betrayed them both and neither of them want anything to do with him. She storms off again, but Dyson admits that he loves Bo and that stops Kenzi in her tracks. She goes back to him and tells Dyson that if he makes her regret helping him she will sell him for parts.

Bo has returned home and finds Aife waiting for her there, dressed in a kitchen apron and baking cookies. trying to seem like the Mother that Bo never knew. Bo asks “what’s going on with the Berry Crocker?” Aife shrugs and offers “Symbolic?” Bo moves closer as Aife claims that it is never too late to be a good Mom, to which Bo comments that trying to wreck her life and kill her boyfriend is a really good way to do that sarcastically. Bo then takes a cookie, nibbling on it as they talk. Aife explains that she was trying to turn Dyson into one of her thralls in order to get closer to Bo, she also tells her that Dyson isn’t good enough for her. Bo then asks if when they first met if it was an accident. Aife admits that it wasn’t and that she had been watching Bo for a long time but hadn’t found the right time to see her until then. Bo asks what to call Aife, she suggests Mom, but Bo tells her that she has a Mom, that her name is Mary, she knits “wicked Afghans”, helped Bo with her homework and never once abandoned her. Then Bo begins to faint and as she falls unconscious she asks what Aife put into the cookies. Aife catches her and tells her that the secret ingredient is “love.”

We return to see Kenzi leading Dyson into Bo’s place waving a white handkerchief. They look for Bo, who is no longer there, and Dyson tells Kenzi that they are too late. The pair go to Trick and tell him that Aife has Bo. Trick tells them that he has no choice and has to go to the council and tell them that Aife has returned and they need to defend against her. Trick then leaves telling Dyson and Kenzi to pray and that he has no idea what hell Aife is putting Bo through.

Bo is seen then laying in a large ornate bed waking up. Surrounding her are three bare-chested men, one of which greets her with a glass of orange juice. Bo just asks “Is my Mom around?” The scene shifts to a garden where Aife is being tended to by her thralls in comfort. Bo arrives moments later and comments on how Aife lives to which the answer is that Aife thinks this is how everyone should live. She offers Bo a glass of something to drink, which Bo dumps on the ground. Bo then tells Saskia that she didn’t need to drug her, that she had been looking for her and wants to her Aife’s side of the story. Aife asks what Bo knows about her, Bo tells her what little that Trick had told her and then Aife tells her side of what happened. The Dark King felt that it was wrong to “waste a perfectly good Succubus” and so Aife spent centuries being tortured and imprisoned by him. Aife admits that she hates Trick and then tells Bo she is free to leave, however, Bo tells her that she wants to stay for the moment with Aife.

Trick in the meantime has gone to The Ash (Clé Bennett), at his home and tells him of Aife’s return and what he has done. The Ash laughs off Trick’s warnings about Saskia and seems more concerned with what the council should do to punish Trick instead when they meet in a short time to discuss the death of Elder Ellis from the beginning of the episode. The Ash comments that they can handle one bitter Succubus, or if need be, two of them.

Aife and Bo are sitting together talking. Bo asks how Aife can control the thralls she has for so long. The answer is that it is an acquired skill as “siphoning Chi is an art” according to Aife. Bo then asks why she didn’t enthrall the one that imprisoned her. The answer to that question is that the Dark King had an amulet that stops Succubi from being able to feed on the one that is wearing it. It binds the wearer’s Chi to their body and as such, Succubi cannot effect them. Bo tries to find out if the Dark King is her father, and if he is alive to which Aife refuses to answer. Bo then asks why Aife did not reveal herself when they first met, the answer being that she wanted to know if Bo was under the influence of Trick first. Then Aife reveals what she intends to do. She plans to destroy the Fae as they are at that moment. Bo asks how that is possible and Aife replies that her thralls do more than mix drinks.

We then see the Light Fae council in session talking about what has occurred. They are in the middle of an argument when one of Aife’s thralls enters, opens his jacket and reveals that he is carrying a bomb, which he then detonates causing an explosion which causes massive damage to the building the council was meeting it and killing or injuring the council members.

Bo is then seen pleading with Aife to call off the attack, which she is told has happened already. Aife then attempts to play on Bo’s desire to stop the need for choice to be made by the Fae to pick sides, but Bo refuses to do so in the manner that Aife is undertaking. Aife then tells her that in the end, when her plan is done, that she will reign over all with Bo at her side and command everyone. Bo suddenly realizes that what Aife wants is to be “the new religion” of the world and she tells her that Trick was right, Aife is crazy. Aife then turns on Bo, telling her that she will not be allowed to leave and has her thralls attempt to hold Bo. Bo jumps out a window and runs off leaving Aife behind, commenting that she knows that Bo will be back because “a girl needs her Mama.”

The next scene is Bo in Dyson’s arms. She tells him that she needs as much energy as she can gain in order to defeat Aife to which Dyson tells her to take whatever she needs. Afterwards, Dyson tries again to reconcile with Bo. She tells him that she understands why he did what he did to her, but she doesn’t know how to forgive him for it. He tries to get her to accept his help in the battle to come, but she tells him that she can only have people she trusts with her. Then she also adds that she needs to fight this fight on her own and after that they will talk. Bo then sees Kenzi, gets her weapons, and the pair leave to see Lauren.

Lauren is dealing with the disaster at the council meeting, the injured and dead in her lab being tended to as best as they can. Lauren is fighting to save The Ash’s life who is obviously gravely injured and is on life support. Lauren tells Bo that they are moving the survivors and the Noble Families to a secure place until they figure out what is going on. She tells Bo that an attack like this is a declaration of war and if she is protecting the Succubus responsible she has to stop. Bo then tells her that it is her Mother that is doing all of this. Hale rushes in and grabs a list of Fae from Lauren. Kenzi asks where and what he is doing, Hale tells her that he has to get important people underground. Kenzi tells him to watch his back and she expects to see him again in one piece. Hale then leaves on his mission. Bo tells Lauren that she will stop her Mother, and that she has a plan involving an amulet that her Mother told her about. Lauren shows Bo an image of the amulet she is looking for on her computer. The amulet is called a Koushang and it happens that the Light Fae have a trophy room that The Ash hand down from generation to generation and they have one. Lauren gives Bo a map and a key to get into the place, the two share a kiss and a promise that Bo will return before Bo leaves with Kenzi to get the amulet.

Dyson sees Trick and tells him that there is an evacuation order in effect and he should go as well. Trick tells him that he cannot go for he is helping with making that happen. He asks where Bo is, Dyson tells Trick that she is going to stop Aife. Trick asks how they can help her and Dyson tells Trick that he is going to see The Norn. Trick tells him that the ancients love trickery and anything he asks for will come at a high price. Dyson says that is his choice and when Trick offers to arrange an audience he is told that Dyson and The Norn have a history before he leaves Trick behind.

Bo and Kenzi enter The Ash’s trophy room and search for the Koushang. They talk about how they will deal with Aife, Bo wants to talk to her at least once, Kenzi would rather knock her out and drag her in by her hair. Kenzi also mentions that Aife is a “Grade 10 Succubus” and when Bo asks what she is, Kenzi admits that Bo is “a Kindergarten Succubus with pigtails and a Muppets lunchbox.” When Bo asks why she is coming, Kenzi says “because I always have your back.” As she says this, Bo sees a pair of ancient handcuffs and takes them. Kenzi finds the Koushang and while holding it, Bo tries to feed on her and fails in doing so. Bo then handcuffs Kenzi to a shelf and tells her that she loves her and that’s why she can’t let her come to face Aife and leaves. After Bo leaves, Kenzi makes a phone call to Hale asking for help and telling him that Bo has gone rouge.

Bo arrives at Aife’s home and announces herself. Aife appears and comments that the right way to do things would have been to attack unannounced, Bo tries one more time to reason with her, which fails and so the pair begin to fight, Bo using a sword and Aife using a pike to attack in turn.

Kenzi confronts Trick and tells him that he must use his power to save Bo. He tells her that he has tried for centuries to fix what happened with his blood and writing what he wanted to have happen in his books. But every time something horrible happened as a result of doing so. Kenzi takes a knife and cuts her own hand telling him that he can use her blood then instead. Trick tries to bandage Kenzi’s wounds, but she tells Trick that he is a coward and that if he truly cared for Bo he would do anything to help her right then and storms out leaving Trick behind.

Aife and Bo in the meantime are fighting, and eventually Aife disarms Bo and then takes hold of her. She tells Bo that she would have rather had Bo join her willingly, but she will just have to be happy with Bo as one of her thralls. She attempts to feed on Bo, but fails as Bo possesses the Koushang. Then Aife says that she will just have to kill Bo instead and Bo runs off with Aife in pursuit.

Dyson has arrived at a small home elsewhere in the city. He approaches the door and it is opened by a man who is The Norn’s Assistant (Gregory Finney). He guides Dyson to The Norn (Kate Trotter). In her presence they talk about the last time he had approached her for a favour and what that means. In order to have his favour granted, Dyson would have to give up something that he valued about all else. He did not make that bargain at that time, but now agrees. Dyson tells her that he is willing now and she tells him to kneel and make his bargain with her.

Bo is running away from Aife, trying to find a way to defeat her in the meantime. Aife corners her and asks why she is resisting, Bo tells her that she believes there is some good left in her. Aife does not answer that, but instead grips Bo by the throat and begins to choke her. At the same time, Trick violently throws things from his desk and brings out the pouch we saw in an earlier episode and opens it to begin the act of writing in his blood with the words “May the Gods forgive me.”

The Norn in the meantime has Dyson on his knees and asks him what she requested the last time they met. The last time the price was his “wolf”, or his essence. She asks him why he would give up his wolf for Bo to which Dyson answers that the reason is none of her business. He then tells her that if she gives his strength to Bo, she can take whatever she wants from him. She agrees to the trade and instead of taking Dyson’s wolf from him, she takes his love of Bo from him, telling him that he will remember what he has lost, but he will never love her again as Dyson screams in agony from her touch on his chest.

As Dyson suffers for Bo, she is being held on the edge of a railing by Aife and is about to be thrown over it by her. Bo’s eyes suddenly change colour, turning almost black, and she breaks free of Aife’s grip before pushing her through the railing and over the edge into empty space. At the last moment, Bo grabs Aife’s hand and holds her there on the edge of falling several stories to her death. Bo tells her not to let go, to which Aife says that she won’t because she can take Bo with her went she falls. Kenzi then arrives on the scene and tries to tell Bo to let go. Bo tells her that she will not give up on Aife like everyone else did. Trick is then seen cutting his hand and drawing blood. He then writes with his blood in one of his books and we return to Aife hanging in midair. The images shift between the words of blood being written and Aife’s enraged face. Then a symbol appears on Aife’s forehead and vanishes. Her face changes from a look of insane rage to sudden peace and she speaks to Bo in a way that she never did before. In a calm, almost loving voice she tells Bo that Kenzi is right and she has to let go of her. Bo refuses and Aife tells her that there is so much she wants to tell her. To see Trick as he knows it all. To tell Trick that she forgives him and that if she can, that Bo forgive her. Then she forces Bo to let go and plummets to her death. Bo and Kenzi see her at the bottom of the open staircase, blood around her body and obviously dead. They run for the stairs to go to her, but when they arrive they find her body gone and only a puddle of blood remaining and they leave moments later.

The last scene is of Bo and Kenzi back at their home talking about what has happened to them in the past season. Then their talk turns to Trick and Bo comments that Aife told her that Trick knows everything, but that also means that Trick is still hiding something. We then see Trick’s arm fall limply to his side, blood coating it and he on the verge of death from blood loss. Then Kenzi asks if she will forgive Dyson, to which Bo tells her that somehow Dyson helped her win the fight. She tells Kenzi that there are no secrets between them and they deserve a fresh start. We see Dyson in pain somewhere in the darkness shift into his wolf form and race off into the forest. Kenzi then asks what Bo will do when her Mother returns because, like cockroaches, evil never dies. Bo tells Kenzi that when Aife sacrificed herself for her, that was her real Mother and she still has hopes for her. We see Aife being carried in a tunnel by a man into darkness.

The last image is of Bo holding the Koushang in her hand and telling Kenzi that she believes that they do not have to be afraid of her Mother any longer. Kenzi tells her that she hopes Bo is right to which Bo’s answer is “I am. I am.”

And so the first season, and the season finale ends…

Fade to black…

I have to say that this episode had a lot of high points, but the low points hurt it a great deal. The lowest of the low was Aife, or whatever she calls herself. I would appreciate it if the show could clearly define what her name is. Regardless of that, once again the way she was written and played was so far over the top that the only thing I could think of while watching her was wondering when she was going to slip into a bad B-movie villain voice and go Bwa-ha-ha-ha-ha-ha. That would have fit her exceptionally well really. Still I should talk about what we learned from her. Firstly we see that Succubi in this universe can create thralls that obey their every command… including blowing themselves up if told to. Now this strikes me as something extremely not Succubus like in nature and only seemed to serve the purpose of showing just how insane Aife was. While that is, I suppose, necessary, it still was disappointing in nature.

It was also disappointing that the means of how Bo and her mother fought was to take out swords and pikes and attack each other. Since they are both Succubi, wouldn’t it have been a great idea for them to use their powers instead? Where in the entire sequence, save for the one moment Aife tried to turn Bo into a thrall, was there evidence of either of them being a Succubus?

That lesds into the amulet that is supposed to protect the wearer from Succubi. I have a question that needs to be answered about that. Why is it not possible for the Succubus to simply take the amulet off their victim’s body and then feed on them? Wouldn’t that be an obvious method of getting around what the amulet can do? And if the answer to that is Succubi cannot touch it, I have news for you… Bo held it in her bare hands several times and did not seem to be effected by it. This is, regrettably, a major plot hole.

Focusing on Bo a bit more, it was a shame that she acted so poorly after Dyson told her the truth. I understand that she was hurt by that. I follow that she didn’t want anything to do with him or Trick, but, and here’s the moment that bugs me most of all… If you don’t want anything to do with Dyson , then why Bo do you go running into his arms in order to feed and get stronger to face your mother? It makes no sense. It also makes no sense why Bo would attempt to go on her own to solve the problem of her Mother when she has no idea how to fight her or what she could do to protect herself. It was only the hint of the amulet, given by Aife herself, that gave Bo the means to defeat her. It just does not follow in they way that Bo passed through these moments.

Then we have the attack on the Light Fae council. How is it that a single thrall can get through all of that security, stand in the same room as his targets and destroy the place without being at least searched once, if not stopped? Another huge plot hole that bugs the hell out of me. While it does show that, in theory, any Succubus can with sufficient skill make anyone do anything, it is a waste of power and more so, a Succubus would not use such a crude means to eliminate an enemy. There are more interesting and sneaky methods of doing so that make more sense.

Getting away from the Succubi now, I thought that some of the interactions between Hale and Kenzi in the street were incredibly stiff. I realize that it was meant to be, but honestly Hale has more range than that and should have been used better in that scene. When they met in Lauren’s lab, that was how good friends that care about each other should part. The emotion in that one scene tells you just how much both of them put into their characters.

It was good to see Lauren again, and her appearance did answer some questions about her and what she actually thinks about Bo, but on the other hand it was not as good as it could have been. It would have been nice to have one small moment of healing in their relationship after the events of the episode. The kiss they shared hinted at that, but we needed to see more.

Speaking of seeing more, we saw so very little of Trick this episode. I didn’t like that he was used mostly as an information dump for Bo. It seemed too forced and rushed, which it shouldn’t have been. But that needed to be done, and it was, but it wasn’t what really mattered in the episode. What mattered is that we saw the emotions in Trick of knowing all of the things that he had done in the past that didn’t solve the problems he faced. All they did was draw the borders of the moment that came in this episode to them all. Probably the single most heartbreaking moment in the episode was with Trick. His face at Kenzi’s words to him of being a coward. You could see the hurt that brought him. The decision to write in the books and how that tore at his soul. How much of who he is, how much his honour means to him, that came out clearly and was something to behold.

Kenzi was, as she so always is, a star of the episode. The little touches of her personality here and there were really interesting. Reading a romance novel was something I would have never expected from her. The steer force of will that is Kenzi and how she dealt with Dyson, making him understand that it was his one and only chance to prove his worth to her… That was so wonderful and exactly what you would expect from her. The only thing that still gets to me, even this far into the series, is how she is not seen as being as important as she is. Not just to Bo, but everyone around her. I hope that we have a Kenzi centred story in the future that lets us see what made Kenxi… Kenzi.

Dyson… Dear dear Dyson… The web was so tight around you and your heart so taken that your mind left you at the most critical point possible. You offered an open gift for what you wanted and that, as any Succubi would tell you, is a mistake. You have lost your heart to Bo and now what is left of you? Are you just the wolf? Where is the man, the real man that existed before? I know that this will be a focus of the next season, but to lose your heart so quickly and to be tricked into that so easily… That was a shame. But here’s the thing. Even though you lost something, you remember what it was. And somehow I can’t believe that it’s not possible for you to get back what you lost.

There is always hope. Somehow that was lost by some in the finale. But not everyone…

I have the oddest feeling that what they showed was not the actual final episode. It feels like they had to figure out some means to leave a cliffhanger for Season Two and in order to get there, the best thing was to place several characters at risk. While that works to a point, it seems a bit overused to me.

Lots of questions were left unanswered, which you have to expect for a cliffhanger episode, but why shove so much into a single episode? There was more than enough to fill up two episodes I think. They could have expanded on the first part of the episode and then stop about the point where Saskia’s thrall attacked the Light Fae leadership, and then return with the season finale to tie things up.

If this wasn’t the actual series ending episode, I wonder what that might have been like. I can still see the end, a real end, for Saskia, but otherwise would Dyson still be “lost” to Bo? Would Trick have had to bleed to his seeming death? Or would they have gone for Dyson losing his wolf self and perhaps Kenzi saving Trick?

I think that would have been something interesting to see rather than having Bo and Kenzi sitting on a couch, having a beer while Bo’s world collapses around her.

Moving on to my hopes for next Season, which for those that do not know will be September of 2011…

This coming September: Bo discovers that Dyson lost everything for her and that she failed to kill her mother. Kenzi finds Trick close to death and saves him, Hale has to deal with a Dyson that has no heart, and Lauren tries to have Bo understand why things are the way they are.

Okay, those are my personal thoughts on the next season in the beginning, but with all of the open plots left from this season, they seem to be likely story paths…

Here are some others to think about as well… What is The Morrigan going to do when she discovers that The Ash and the Light Fae elders are, if not dead, unable to oppose her? Are we going to see the Fae War that was feared by all? If Trick is as badly injured as he seems to be, would it possibly mean that Kenzi looks after the bar in his stead? Does Bo actually get a better hairstyle and wardrobe? Will we ever see a ménage à trois with Bo, Dyson and Lauren? Okay I admit that the last two are silly, but are possible I suppose.

The one thing that I would love to see most of all would be that Bo becomes more sure of herself and less of the “I’m so scared of everyone and everything” character she was this past season. She needs to get over that and get into defining herself more than having others define who she is.

Something else that I would like, but won’t see, is that we never, and I mean never, see Saskia again. Or at the minimum, change the character to be less of a, and honestly she seems to be, nutbar, and be more of an actually sensual Succubus.

That’s actually something else that needs to be seen from my perspective, show us less of a comic book universe and put more of a serious tone to who Bo is. I know that overall the series isn’t played with a point of seriousness to it, but really some of the most serious moments around Bo have been played off as being almost comedic in nature and they shouldn’t be that way.

Which leads me to something that has been the focus of a lot of people with regards to Bo’s character. Some people say that she is Bisexual, some other say that no, she’s actually lesbian, but the writers couldn’t sell her that way to Showcase, so she’s playing Bi, but ‘we’ know she’s lesbian. Others say that the Bi aspect isn’t really there, that she’s actually heterosexual but the scenes that seem to show her as being Bi are there for ratings…


What difference does it make really?

And until something in the series says it one way or the other, what does it matter? Why do you have to be on Team Dyson or Team Lauren or whatever the flavour of the day is? Why is it that, in general at least, the fans of the series cannot focus on one important point and keep it in mind regardless of anything else?

If you like the series, watch it, promote it and write to Showcase and tell them that you want more of it. Not just the next season, but the one after that. Convince them to green light a third season ahead of the next one. Make them understand that there is something her that needs the security of knowing that here is a future for it.

And Showcase? This next part is for you.

Realize that there is a tremendous amount of followers of the series around the world that are getting the series by whatever means is necessary and tap into that market before it is too late for you. Get the series out to the American market now. Before Season Two starts. You have an opportunity to have it picked up by someone like Showtime or HBO or especially Cinemax that would promote it and run it without having to alter the scripts with bleeps or dubbing or anything else.

To the American fans of the series, please don’t focus on SyFy or the CW or any channel like that. It is not possible to show this series there without having to cut out all of what makes it different and worth watching. If it is possible to get it on any of the three big movie channels in the US, write them. Make them see what an opportunity it would be to carry this series and how it fits with the current run of popular supernaturally themed programs that they have now.

It’s not rocket science to see that Lost Girl fits in there and can stand on its own against the other, lesser, vampiric themed series that focus on teen angst hidden behind the fangs and blood around them.

Besides, the Fae and their universe are far more interesting and, really, why settle for vampires and their need for blood when you have so much more in the idea of Succubi…

Biased yes, but then I have my reasons don’t I?

Succubi Image of the Week 155

I am going to share, for this week’s Succubus, a promotional image from a role playing game that I think is very good for a Succubus…

The game is called Chronicles of Blood, you can find out more about it here in the game wiki if you are interested in it, but in short, it is a fighting game on Facebook… The website listed in the image will not give you any useful information on it…

Regardless of that, I think that this is a lovely image of a Succubus…

There is nothing in the image that tells of who the actual artist is, something that as always bothers me a lot. Still, the work itself is wonderful and gives us a glimpse of a Succubus, that doesn’t actually appear like this in the game, does give some interesting thoughts of what she might look like…

The quality of the art is wonderful, the shading and tones make her very three dimensional in nature and moreover, the effect gives her a certain sensuality that all Succubi should have…

Her horns are not really outrageous in size, a bit large for my liking, but well done. Her tail is lovely, one of the better ones I have seen, but her damaged  wings do bother me a bit… It just seems to distract from her sensuality having such damage in her form…

Nonetheless, a lovely Succubus by this artist, I would love to have a larger version of this, I am quite sure that a lot of the detail work here cannot be seen for the size of the image we have to look at.
