A lovely Morrigan Aensland Cosplayer Video

A really nice Morrigan Aensland cosplay video I found on YouTube to share this time on the Tale… Really one of the best produced that I have seen in some time…

And if you cannot see it on the Tale, try this link:

And one screenshot from the video, which I think is rather cute too…

Morrigan Cosplayer LoliSakura

This Cosplayer’s name is LoliSakura, and you can find her Facebook page here which has many lovely images of her portraying other characters like Morrigan. Now, I can’t say that I cared for the skull she was holding, but I really love her costume and her attitude as she plays Morrigan in the video.

And the bat leaving her hand was really a cute touch that I didn’t expect which just added to how right she seems to be as Morrigan here. I do wonder, a little bit, if she wouldn’t have been more Morriganish if she was sitting on a throne or something similar…

It is a thought at least…

A Review of Forever Kiss by Christy Lynn

Forever Kiss by Christy Lynn

Forever Kiss by Christy Lynn

An Incubus slash vampire story this time to review, it is a free work that you can find on Smashwords if you’d like to read it. I do have some problems with merging the concepts of Incubi and vampires together, I always have, but sometimes if the story is really well done I can get past that issue.

It’s nice that sometimes that does manage to happen like in this case.

  • Title: Forever Kiss
  • Author: Christy Lynn
  • Publishing Date: February 5, 2013
  • Length: 12 Pages
  • ISBN: 9781301266425
  • This work at Smashwords

The story is about:

Lucian was a true hedonist. He demanded pleasure at any cost. He feeds off others unknowingly while he sucks their energy and Chi. His lust for pleasure always unquenchable became ever more intense in his mortal death. He was a skilled and giving lover and now in death treated his female conquests the same. He made them believe in him and the promise of love that secretly eluded him. When they were his and gave themselves freely, he fed. He carelessly had tossed them all aside when he was satiated, until he met Deirdre.

Lucian is an Incubus in a way but also a vampire as well. The story tells of his feeding on emotion, on sexual energy and sex itself, but also that he has, and does, take blood from those he feeds on. However, in this work the blood isn’t what matters to him, it;s who Deirdre is, what she represents, and what she does to him.

There is a hint of some mind control being used, or rather some emotional control and direction so that Deirdre can overcome her own fears and perceived short comings. It’s very sensually written and if one ignores the appearance of Lucian’s fangs at one point in the story, he is a very well portrayed Incubus. It’s a little off-putting that he thinks about his past and what he wishes he could feel and do as he is now, which reflects that he is a vampire as well of course.

That’s the point were I have problems with mixing Incubi, or Succubi for that matter and vampires. They are two different kinds of being in my mind and the two together have never worked for me well. Save for this story and that’s mainly because the vampire is held at bay for the most part and the sexuality of the Incubus drives the story as a whole.

I thought it was well done when Lucian was confused by Deirdre’s actions towards him and how, being from a different time, his own tastes and manners sometimes do not match well with the modern world that they both exist in.

As characters, both are well fleshed out with their own personality, views, needs and desires. They have a history which has shaped them and the way they are drawn together, one overcoming their own insecurities. the other discovering their need for the other, flows wonderfully.

Lucian is described as being more vampiric than incubus. No horns or tail, but his raw sexuality and desire is done to perfection. Deirdre is not what one would expect in a work like this, but Lucian’s desires and preferences link to her own image. The transformation of her self image towards something more makes this work wonderful.

But it is short. The tale comes to a close at a point were I want to see what comes next for the two of them and it’s not seen. A larger more involved story would be wonderful should it ever become real.

Three and a half pitchforks out of five.

Well written just really wish there was more to the story than the little that is given here.

Succubi Image of the Week 326

Time this week for cuteness… Honestly and truly this is one of the cutest images of the Succubi that I have seen… She’s just too adorable for words and I think she will be one of my top ten Succubi pieces of art for the year…

GO - Random Succubus by Baitou

GO – Random Succubus by Baitou

This wonderful piece of art is titled GO – Random Succubus by Baitou and you can find her here on the page I originally found her on and this artist’s DeviantArt page is here too…

I would love to say that she represents me, but obviously she doesn’t. However, I can see quite a lot of my Succubi self in her… She just has that certain style that the Succubi me has and that just makes me adore this art even more…

She isn’t over the top, she isn’t blatantly sexual, and most of all, she doesn’t “look” like the stereotypical Succubus. All of that, truly, makes this piece of art something that brings me a lot of happiness when I look at her…

And that’s the most important thing…

A mask and horns do not a Succubi costume make

Masked Ball Devil CostumeI think that just having a costume with horns isn’t enough. I expect that there is something more that makes it if not special, then at least interesting. However, adding a mask to the costume does not help much by itself either. Mind you, having really silly horns doesn’t help either too…

This is called the Masked Ball Devil Costume and it comes with the black and red bustier top dress with a fitted bodice, the mask and the rather oddly sized horns as well.

It does not include the choker, stockings or footwear the model is wearing, it does not have a tail, and it sells for $80 US…

Honestly there isn’t much I like about this costume. The horns just look wrong and the costume itself really has nothing to it that even hints at it being devilish or Succubish whatsoever.

When I look at this costume i think burlesque more than anything else because of the look this costume has. I wonder if it is another example of a costume that hasn’t been selling and has been repurposed in order to clear out stock. I can see that because the horns just do not look right here at all.

Still, it does make me ponder the idea of a Wild West era Succubus in a saloon somewhere having her fun.

So while I won’t ever buy this, it might have given me an idea for a story sometime…

One pitchfork out of five.

I just can’t find a way to like it honestly…

A Review of The Succubus’ Sub – Session Seven: Changes by John Dylena

The Succubus' Sub - Session Seven: Changes by John Dylena

The Succubus’ Sub – Session Seven: Changes by John Dylena

Today I am continuing my review of the series The Succubus’ Sub, by John Dylena. You can find the review of the first book in the series here. The second book was reviewed here and the third can be found here. The fourth work’s review can be found here with the fifth book’s review here on the Tale and the sixth was reviewed here. This review will be of the seventh book, the second in the second half of the series.

Sometimes a Mistress needs to show her submissive that there is more to life than what they have seen so far. The question that comes from that is… What do they do with that knowledge and where does it lead them next?

It tells the story of:

The morning after another night bound in latex, Brett wakes up and finds himself back in his apartment, his body still female and as tempting as ever. Soon after he wakes up, he receives a phone call from his mistress with instructions to wear the outfit set aside for him.

But things aren’t as they seem when he arrives to work in the slutty costume and it’s only when he comes back to his apartment that everything makes sense.

His place is empty, his furniture gone. Myserra is moving him out and into the new condo that they’ll be sharing together.

And every luxury home needs a maid.

The story makes a turn right from the beginning that I didn’t expect to see. There really wasn’t a hint, for me at least, of what it was or where it was eventually to lead to. It was well done and fit into the past of the story and where it seemed to be moving towards well. The twist, when it arrives, is surprising, but the aftereffects of it do carry on and that I think is a good thing as, in truth, all characters need to grow and Brett/Brooke I think needs to do the most growing.

When the truths do appear, and Myserra leads Brett onwards in his experiences, it makes a good deal of sense of why things are as they are and where things are meant to move onwards to. There is also a moment between Brett and Myserra where Brett admits a very important truth to himself and his Mistress that I think needs to be explored further and there is a reason for that.

I’m still a little unsure about Myserra’s attitude towards Brett/Brooke. She hints at her feelings, but brushes them off many times which, at least for me, seems to be not quite right. Devotion should be rewarded and somehow I don’t think it has been so far. They say that absence makes the heart grow fonder and for Brett that’s very true. It is also true that with discipline there needs to be a reward or it does not hold or mean anything. I hope that Myserra sees that before Brett finds himself/herself in a situation that could change their relationship.

Which brings me to Heather. Heather is, well, not the smartest of Succubi it seems and whether her attitude towards Brett is a measure of her desires to have him or to control him or, perhaps, to take him is something that I can’t quite follow at times. She should have figured out by now that disobeying Myserra is a bad idea and yet she’s still attracted to Brett and Brooke even more. It feels like she sees Brett as a pet and not a sub and I think she’s missing the point in that. It would be interesting for her to use some honey instead of vinegar in her dealings with Brett/Brooke. After the events in this part of the story I wonder if she will figure that out or need to learn a real lesson… Or if she tries to take Brett away or something else… It’s the something else that I wonder about most of all.

As for Brett himself, his view of the world is shifting to be more… Brooke-like shall we say and I rather like the transformation as it progresses. Brooke the maid has some interesting moments, but for me at least I thought the opening few paragraphs… and the outfit that Brooke wears to work, were really very interesting. I would like to see more of Brooke as “Brooke”, perhaps with her internal definition of herself being… herself. Brooke, for me, is interesting and where that story leads to I think can be a lot more than has been seen so far. We’ve seen the fantasy… I wonder about the impending reality for her.

The story is well done, the scenes and settings are vivid and the erotica has a lovely touch of heat to it in the right places. A couple of very minor editing errors towards the end of the story were noticeable, but overall that did not take away from my enjoyment of the story. As a bridge from the past to the future I think this works well. It sets up many questions and paths for the story to take and I look forward to seeing where it goes next.

I’ll give this work four pitchforks out of five.

An interesting interlude from what was to what might be… And I really must try to find that outfit that Brooke… “wore” to the “office” sometime… I rather liked that a lot. Something is coming and it is heading directly towards Brett. It will be, I am sure, interesting when it arrives.

Get There By TeraS

I still am trying to find the time to write … It’s not really going all that well of late, but there is some hope that I will get there …

… Perhaps there is a story in that thought …

Get There
By TeraS

Because she promised.

Some might think that she should have never done so. She was, after all, the Queen of the Realm. It would have been perfectly understandable if she forgot all about it. Considering how much she had going on around her, missing out on this would have been acceptable.

But not to her. To Tera, it mattered … because she promised.

It was not anything universe-shattering that she needed to do. Nor was it something that was critically important, needed, or could mean the end of everything. Most would think that she could just come up with an excuse, a reason why she couldn’t and, as they say, wash her hands of it.

But no. Because Tera promised, she would get there.

The what it was, the where it was, the why it was … none of that made this anything that absolutely needed to be done by her. Nonetheless, she did so. Because it was how she was. Placing the need of another over her own was … well … just how she was …

… because she promised.

She knew—very well—that a kind word, a thoughtful action, a moment where another knew felt well thought of, cared about, and wanted … that these things meant something. They meant something to her. The saying “pay it forward” was there in her thoughts and, while she might be spending more than she was given, that wasn’t important to her.

She would get there.

Her smile, as always, was warm and true. There was never a hidden agenda with her. When she said she loved you … it was forever. When she held you, there was no inner uncertainty whispering that she didn’t want to be there. Those whom she loved were in her thoughts more than they could possibly understand.

Her promise … mattered. It mattered to her when she said she would be there. It meant something when she offered her hand to help, her shoulder to lean on, a moment of her life to just … talk. Were all of those things weighing upon her? She would never tell. To her it didn’t matter how heavy the load, the troubles and tribulations that came. She was there; she would be there again … and again … and again and again, as long as she was wanted.

She finally arrived.

She had been told that she didn’t need to come, that it would have been fine if she couldn’t make it. She smiled that smile of hers, tilted her head to the right and replied: “There is nowhere else I would rather be.”

It was more than a promise. It was an absolute fact, because she wanted to be there. She wanted to offer a hand, a word, a moment, a measure of being there. All of these seemed, in the grand scheme of things, just small things that only one other would know of.

But she was there. The universe, she was sure, would never know that she had been there. There would not be songs sung about it happening, nor stories told about it, either. She wouldn’t gain a thing from doing … the right thing. It didn’t matter, for she received something far more precious for being there: she kept a promise … one that she need not keep, one she certainly never needed to keep. But she had and she would, again and again, for that was who she was. Her word … mattered.

And a friend might tell her—indeed, often did tell her—that the universe was aware of far more than even the Queen of the Succubi ever realized, that there were songs sung that were heard not with ears, but with hearts, stories told that were whispered into souls by unheard voices, and that, while she might not gain anything, she made all life immeasurably richer every time she did this.

Still, all that mattered to her was being true to who she was. Somehow, someway, she would get there.

A Review of Succubus Redemption by Susan Woodward

Succubus Redemption by Susan Woodward

Succubus Redemption by Susan Woodward

It is said, in some myths about Succubi, that becoming one is a curse. That your existence is held with taking from another until they are no more. While that is the most common aspect of the Succubus mythos… It is not, by any means, the only one.

Telling a story about Succubi, in a way that really is quite a bit different than the norm is a talent. Making the characters within the work truly exist is a more rare one that isn’t seen often. But when it happens it makes for a story that is more than the heat within it…

This is the story of:

Succubus Redemption is a story where a young woman cursed long ago to the loneliness of the dream world must survive on her own. Stripped of the memories of her previous life except for the affair that lead to her curse, she doesn’t even know her own name. The curse forces her to answer to whatever name the man of the moment bestows upon her.

Her curse makes her wander the world seducing dreaming men and feeding on their chi. It’s a case of a girl’s gotta do what a girl’s gotta do, or at least it was until she met Taylor. He’s strong, dominant, and the man she believes she has waited an eternity for.

Things are just beginning to heat up when Taylor’s dad becomes ill. She watches helplessly from the dream world unable to help him. Will Taylor say the three words that can break her curse and allow her to renter the waking world or will he just be another notch on her bed post?

The Succubus of this story is not, by any means, stereotypical and from the first moment her story is told I found myself liking her, fearing for her, and most of all, sad for all that she had been through. But most of all, the loss of her own identity, her self, her name… That was worst of all. Still in spite of all that she had lost, there is a spark of hope within her and tied into that hope is something very precious… love.

She loves Taylor. Not just the Taylor of his dreams, but the real world Taylor as well. She frets over him, worries when she cannot do anything to help him. She faces an Incubus who wants her, but she not him and when Taylor begins to slip away due to their influence, the heartache she feels is strongly told within the story.

She is under a curse, a very evil one really. One that can be broken with three little words, but the thing is, as a Succubus… she never hears them. It was telling how much she wants to explain, to have him say the words and not hear them. There is love between them in dreams even when Taylor changes in his desires, but she remains true to him.

After the climax of the story, when something precious is given to her, there is an open door that the story really needed to take, but did not. Actually more than one, and in that I felt a bit let down when what I hoped was to be… wasn’t. I’d love to see another part to this story. Something to give it the closure that I think the Succubus and Taylor both need…

The heat in the story, at least the beginning, is a bit “over the top” in nature, but then it was a dream and so that was what it was. It was the moment when things changed, when Taylor’s reality came to be that the true heat, love and passions in the story appeared and they were wonderful…

As much as I loved the story and the characters, I think this work could have used at least one more editing pass for some silly little errors that appear here and there. For most they might not even notice them, but for me they drew me from the story on several occasions and I wish that they did not do so…

I’m giving this work four out of five pitchforks.

A number of spelling and grammar mistakes were unfortunate, they did pull me out of the story at moments that I really didn’t want to be. But a Succubus that I very much do like and one I would like to see where her story ends up. She has an important gift, the path ahead is the one that needs to be seen.

Perhaps it will…
