A Succubus Music Mix YouTube…

I found a techno music mix called Succubus recently, and while it isn’t quite what I have in my thoughts as what would reflect a Succubus, it is one idea, one aspect, and I do think that it would apply to some of the Succubi…

And you can click this link if you cannot hear the music here on the Tale:

There is also, I think, an interesting image that goes along with the music…

Succubus Music Vid

She might a bit of a vampire, but as a reflection of the music I think she’s a good choice…

Still, I have to ponder something more seductive and erotic I think as a suitable song for the Succubi…

Perhaps that will be its title…

A Song for the Succubi.

A Review of Succubus Fantasy by Amanda Clover

Succubus Fantasy by Amanda Clover

Succubus Fantasy by Amanda Clover

I really never have managed to like books that are the Choose-your-own Adventure themed ones. For one thing they usually have the same idea used over and over again throughout the work. Another is that there is a sense of “cheating” as you flip past the other paths on the way to the one you have chosen. It’s also disappointing that so many of the paths end up being “bad” for you in all sorts of ways.

I found one such work where a Succubus is the core of the story and, disappointingly, the same problems I have had in the past with these works came to haunt me again in this one…

It is the adventure of:

Have you ever wanted a nubile redheaded demoness to do your sexual bidding? It sounds like a fantasy come true, and maybe it is, but when you discover a ritual that allows you to conjure a succubus you learn to be careful what you wish for. Especially when your lover has an appetite for your life force!

Your Naughty Playmate 2 – Succubus Fantasy puts you in the action and lets your choices guide the erotic fantasy. You can command the succubus to perform a variety of erotic acts or use her incredible powers to change into someone else. You can have an affair with your friend’s lusty wife or spend some quality time with your own. Maybe, if you play things right, you can even convince your wife to take a turn with the succubus.

To be honest the idea of the story itself is interesting, and if it had been written as a normal story I think it could have been very well done. The problem is that in this work the idea lurks behind a massive number of paths which all lead, in some way, shape or form, to some slightly over the top erotic moments. Those paths that do not almost inevitably end with the Succubus taking your life and then going on to do other things in the wake of that.

It is, regrettably, a very stereotypical Succubus that appears and as such I just didn’t enjoy the work as much as I could have. She is just interested in sex, being devious, and not much else. While some paths do have her transform into other women for the amusement of the main character of the story, even those moments didn’t do anything for me. Cardboard Succubi are not… well… Succubi.

I did find that the paths the author created to choose from had some promise in them, but after very little in the way of plot, the story turned as quickly as possible towards the sex scenes. Some of them, notably when she is using her tail in various ways, were very creative. The actual scenes of the Succubus having her way with the main character were quite good as were the moments when the main character’s wife appeared as well. The real issue became how each part, after the erotica, suddenly came to an end and a choice had to be made. Even if it was the end of a path, the ending was very swift. It also was repetitive. Many of the endings had the exact same words and actions at the end.

I would have liked to see more story telling around the erotica. There are some tantalizing hints of where the Succubus came from among other threads that are not really explored and it would have been a nice touch to put them into the more elongated plot paths. The heat, at least for me, was muted much of the time and it did not have to be. Most of all the repetitiveness of the plots need to be worked on. Copy and pasting massive blocks of text and then adding a slender bit of change to a path does not make it better than it is.

I’m giving this work two out of five pitchforks.

While the concept is interesting, I just found the story all sex for the most part and little in the way of substance. As well the repetitive nature of some of the endings bothered me. While that is how choose-your-own adventure works… It didn’t for me.

Succubi Image of the Week 340

I’ve said many times that I have problems with the Warcraft Succubus. I don’t care for her hooves, her attitude, the ripped wings… She’s not so much seductive as a monster and that, at least to me, isn’t what Succubi are. It is a rare thing for me to find an image of a Warcraft Succubus that I like and I did find one for this week’s Succubi on the Tale…

World of Warcraft - Succubus by PierluigiAbbondanza

World of Warcraft – Succubus by PierluigiAbbondanza

This art of the Warcraft Succubus is by an artist on DeviantArt named PierluigiAbbondanza. You can find their artist’s page here and the original page I found this work on DeviantArt here.

Overall, I like this art for quite a number of reasons. Her wings are not really torn, the pose hides her hooves in shadow as well, so my main two problems with her aren’t visible which helps a lot. The lack of colour in the art I think makes her much more dramatic, draws out her eyes more, and puts her form into sharper relief.

She’s more seductive like this, which I think is a much better look for her overall. Of course she will never appear in Warcraft to seduce anyone or actually be a Succubus… Perhaps sometime she’ll appear, and act, like the Succubus she is supposed to be…

She’s a Devil, but not a Succubi in this costume…

Devil's Mistress CostumeI don’t mind costumes that are slightly over the top… I do mind when they go way over the top, look uncomfortable and just… are wrong.

Case in point…

This is called the Devil’s Mistress Costume and it comes with the dress and horns shown here only. Nothing else is included such as the shoes, the wig and the choker.

It sells for $45 US on many sites though it can be found for less…

I find it hard to separate my dislike for this costume from the wig this model is wearing. It just makes the entire thing so far over the top that I find myself cringing to be honest. Not just that, but the dress looks very uncomfortable and heavy to wear. It also falls on the side of trashy-ugly which isn’t a good thing either.

There isn’t anything really that I can say in any way that is positive about this costume. The question is, i think, how to make it better in some way…

And that’s going to be a difficult thing to accomplish really…

One pitchfork out of five.

It’s not the worst, but it’s very close to it…

A Review of Desperate Desires by Sabine Shepard

Desperate Desires by Sabine Shepard

Desperate Desires by Sabine Shepard

I find it interesting how many Succubi are written to be, for lack of a better explanations, slaves to their own needs. Not desires, and not wishes, but the need to feed from others and what that entails. While that is the source of many stories, it isn’t all that they are, nor should it be.

A larger question, and it is actually a more important one, is the question of them being trapped or ensnared through their needs and what happens from that point forwards. What is the cost, what does it mean, and the other that traps them, what are they really and are they more than they seem?

  • Title: Desperate Desires
  • Author: Sabine Shepard
  • Length: 26 Pages
  • ASIN: B00K7S03Q6
  • Publishing Date: May 8, 2014
  • This work at Amazon.com

The work tells of:

Some creatures stalk the night in search of prey to satiate blood thirst needs. Others, equally dangerous, stalk the night in search of carnal pleasures to ensure survival. Rachel Morina had been roaming the earth as a succubus for more years than she cared to remember and somehow she never tired of the perks of the job – including gorgeous men who fell down around her, willing to satisfy her every need. Her mood and her appetite constantly evolved but her primal need for sex never faltered. But no life is perfect and Rachel knew this all too well. While she could have any man she wanted, there were always dangers that potentially lurked around every corner and as a result, she could never stay in one place too long and she could never have the same man more than once no matter how well-endowed or particularly talented he may be. Above all else, she could never know love.

Devon, however, plans to change everything.

Rachel is a Succubus, of that there is no doubt. She is seductive, she can have anyone she wants without fail and has done so longer than she can remember. Seeking out her next meal she encounters Devon, who promises her that he will be everything that she needs. And Rachel discovers that his promise is more than words… and is far worse.

Rachel herself is an interesting mix of need and wants which I don’t see in many stories about Succubi. She is independent, but at the same time in encountering Devon, there’s a need within her that he stokes and in doing so changes Rachel in ways that are in many ways difficult to deal with. She seems to be very human in appearance, no horns or tails, but then this is but her first appearance and really what she physically is like really isn’t talked about.

Emotionally however and character wise she has both her darker side, which seems to be more of who she is, and a side that is… lost. She is looking for something, she admits to it. but to find it I think is a larger question that she’ll need to deal with. Or could if not for Devon appearing.

Which brings me to Devon himself. It isn’t clear what he is exactly, though I suppose calling him an Incubus is as good a description as any other. The thing of it is that, as a whole, he starts out as a very interesting and seductive character but then turns very dark, unlikeable, and in the end took a lot of the heat out of the story for me in his actions and demands.

The erotica runs throughout this work, but there is story and quite a good one really that balances things out well I thought. The only problem I had as a whole was Devon’s possessive attitude and actions which led towards moments in the work that cooled the heat for me quite a lot.

Overall written with good characters and an interesting hook for the story, it has a lot of promise to it for future parts, which the author notes will be appearing. It is just the many questions about Devon and his actions that give me some pause and took away from what otherwise is a very deep and compelling story.

I’m giving this work four out of five pitchforks.

This appears to be the opening to a longer series about Rachel and Devon which I hope will be more than the opening chapter seems to show. While Rachel is a full character, there is really nothing known about Devon save his actions and those, at least for me, were less than attractive. Still, I have hopes for the series and I think I will not be disappointed in them.

Storm Clouds 203 by TeraS

Issues this week in not being able to write for various reasons again … As such, there really isn’t all that much added to Storm Clouds this time. Maybe a little, but not all that much—I think, anyway.

For those that would like to read Storm Clouds from the beginning, you can click this link, and it will take you to the page where all of the previous chapters can be found.

Storm Clouds 203
Chapter 34
By TeraS

The calendar hung from the wall by a single red thumbtack. A series of red slashes were drawn through several of the dates on it, but not all of them. There were still many more to go.

Jane stood there looking at it and then began counting the days left, turning the calendar over as she did so, finally coming to the date marked with a blue circle. She noted that there were still two and a half months to go before the dance. One way or the other, she was going to see to it that John made it there.

“Whatcha thinking?”

She turned away from the calendar and looked at John as he hobbled into the room. She knew he was making progress—slow, but steady. He didn’t see it that way. That had to change.

“I’m thinking about going to the dress maker tomorrow and getting something special made.”

He shook his head: “I’m not going to make it. Docs say that they won’t let me out for another six months, and it’ll be another year of therapy before they know …”

Jane stalked towards him, her heels clicking on the tile floor: “By the end of this week, you’re going to be walking better. By the end of next week, you’re not going to be walking with that cane. The end of next month? You’re going to be running on a treadmill.”

John shifted, putting more weight on the cane as he did so: “So, if you’re right, then by the end of this week, you’re going to be slow dancing like a pro. By the end of next week, you’re going to be ballroom dancing. And next month? I expect the cha-cha and some tango.”

Jane stopped just in front of him: “Deal.”

John shot a look at her: “What?”

“It’s going to happen. I’ve taken time off from my job. I don’t have to go back for three months. I’ve gotten permission to be with you every day and get your ass in gear, John. You aren’t getting out of the date.”

“Who says so?”

“I do.”

“Jane, I’m not. I’ll take you wherever you want: any place in town, it’s yours; just say. But we aren’t going to that dance.”

She poked a slim finger into his chest: “Why? Is this some kind of macho man thing that you firemen do? Can’t be seen as anything less than perfect?”

John didn’t answer, which told Jane all she needed to know. She moved her finger underneath his chin, making John look at her: “Tell me what you are thinking, John. You’ve been fighting me every step of the way. Why?”

He moved his free hand to take Jane’s and lower it from his chin: “Truth is, I don’t understand why you are sticking around. You’re … damn it … a dream. You probably could have a dozen men wrapped around your finger, doing whatever you want. And you’re here. Why?”

Jane didn’t look away; her eyes held on John’s: “There’s a difference between lust and love, John. I know the difference. I know who’s real and who’s a fraud. I know … things. I know you aren’t sure that I’ll be here every day. I know that. I understand that. Thing is, as frustrating as you are …”

The pause was a long one, Jane trying to put her truth out in the open, but John interrupted: “If you tell me you love me … be sure. You can’t take that back.”

Jane nodded: “Someone special once told me about the first time she met her Eternal.”

John arched an eyebrow. He could hear the capitalization in that word, hear how Jane put so much emotion into it.

“She told him to be careful who he gave his soul to; he would never get it back.”

John nodded: “Sounds right … seems right.”

Jane sighed: “I know what I know, John, but I won’t say the words right now. Still, I promise you this: at that dance, on that dance floor, when the floor is ours and ours alone … I am going to be sure, and you are too.”

John looked at his cane: “How long?”

“Two and a half months.”

“A lot can happen in that time.”

“I hope so.”

He looked at her again: “Me too.”

She smiled: “Let’s go. The exercise room is open. We’ve got a lot to do today.”

He had thought that Jane would be just watching and encouraging him as he had done for the past week and a half, but today … today was different. When they entered, there was no one else there. Jane closed the door behind them, and then picked up a nurse’s cap that was sitting on a table by the door.

“Where’s the help?”

“Not going to be here today. It’s the weekend: they’re all off, but we’re not. So, I’m going to be the one pushing you. I’ll be back in a sec.”

With that, Jane walked away from John and entered a back room. She emerged a few minutes later in a t-shirt and shorts, the cap in her hair and running shoes on her toes.

John couldn’t help thinking about what she would look like in a nurse’s uniform and had to turn away, the embarrassment on his face quite clear.

“Out with it.”

“No, tell me what you’re thinking, John. I want to know.”

John looked at her: “You’ll just walk out on me.”

“I said I’m not leaving.”

He sighed: “I had … an image of you looking like a nurse just now.”

She smirked: “And?”

He looked away: “You know, I keep thinking about you in that black dress, and now I have a fantasy about you looking like a nurse. You really are trouble, aren’t you?”

Jane walked up to him, pressing her chest against his back, wrapping her arms around his waist. There was a purr in her voice that reached down deeply inside of John: “I’ll keep that fantasy in mind. It’ll be worth your while.”

“God. You are evil, aren’t you?”

She kissed the back of his neck: “Not evil … mischievous.”

Six hours later, John was aching all over as the weights came down for the final time.

“You are a slave driver. I haven’t hurt this much since the academy.”

Jane was looking at a clipboard: “No pain, no gain. You managed about ten percent more today. You’re getting better John.”

“Can’t keep going like this every day.”

She put the clipboard down: “Oh … I think I can find an incentive for you.”

“Do I really want to know?”

Jane didn’t say anything; instead she helped John to stand, then walked with him over towards the showers: “Go; take a shower; come out when you’re done.”

Throughout the shower, John worried. He worried that Jane was going to do something stupid when he came out that would embarrass them both. The thing was—and he found himself not wanting to admit it—he had flashes of fantasies about Jane that got to him … badly.

He didn’t get out of the shower until the water turned very cold. When he did come out, Jane was standing there, tapping her foot: “It’s about …”

John had only wrapped a towel around his waist and Jane got a really good look at him. He looked away, embarrassed that he didn’t use the robes that were there.

Jane ran her tongue over her lips: “Oh … it’s … fine. Just … fine.”

She pointed at a small stack of clothes and then moved towards the shower: “I’m going to use that shower Go get changed. I won’t be as long as you were.”

John had the distinct feeling that Jane knew exactly why it took him so long in the shower. “It’s … the water is freezing.”

She snorted, grabbing a small bag as she marched past him: “That’s why I won’t be long.”

She wasn’t, and, when she came out, her hair was in a ponytail, a fuzzy orange sweater was hugging her curves, and … to be honest, the rest of what she was wearing didn’t register to John.

She smiled: “Cat got your tongue?”

He picked up his cane: “Cat’s got nothing on Jane.”

“Good answer.”

She slipped her arm around his and they walked from the exercise room back to his room.

“So, no black dress for your dance lessons tonight?”

“Not going to be dancing tonight John.”

“What are you planning?”

“You and I are going to have dinner in your room, and then we’re going to talk. If we’re both lucky, we’re going to be spending the night together.”

John didn’t know what to say about that … but found himself thinking that Jane was wrong: she wasn’t mischievous. And that little spark within him, that one that he’d kept locked away where no one would be able to get to it … glowed a little brighter.

It matched a spark within Jane herself.

On the way back to his room, John wondered what the mystery meat was for dinner this time. Hospital food wasn’t the greatest. He wondered what Jane was going to have. He wondered what she wanted to talk about.

When they approached the room at least the first two questions were answered. The answer was that they weren’t having hospital food. Somehow Jane had gotten delivery: pizza. It smelled like really good pizza, too.

He definitely would have to keep her.

“Tell me there aren’t any anchovies.”

The look of disgust was good enough for John. So was the pizza.

It was about the time when they were each on their second slice when she asked him: “Tell me what you think about me.”

John chewed on the slice, then: “You’re a pain in the ass, you’re driven, you set yourself to doing something and you don’t let go of it. You can be grating, irritating, and a slave driver. You push others until you get your way.”

Jane’s expression was unreadable to him, but then most women were. Before she could say anything, he pressed on: “You give a damn about others more than yourself. I saw you helping the nurses out. I saw you spending time with those two kids across the ward. I know at least one nurse you helped out when she couldn’t pay her rent this month.”

“How do you know that?”

“I was told by her that my girlfriend was wonderful and that she owes you a favour. She, and honestly everyone else you have met here, thinks you’re wonderful. But then, that’s obvious. You are … better than wonderful. But that brings up a question.”

“And that is?”

“What secret are you hiding, Jane?”

Jane took another slice and chewed on it for a time, considering what her answer should be. She couldn’t tell John that she was one of the Succubi. At least not yet. Then it struck her and she told him a different secret: “I have a sister. We’re identical twins.”

John blinked.

“Okay, I know that’s not a real secret. The secret is that my sister has a family: two adopted kids and a husband. And I … I’m jealous of that.”

John took a slice to occupy his hands and to keep from saying anything more. He’d made an ass of himself by asking the question. He didn’t want to make it worse.

Jane poked a finger through the bacon bits that were scattered in the pizza box: “I don’t, haven’t had a relationship. Part of that is my job, a lot of it is that I have guys that throw themselves at me and I don’t want any part of it. I’m jealous of her having a place to go home to, someone that she wants to go home to and not just a cat waiting at home.”

Then she looked very deeply into his eyes: “You believe in love at first sight?”

He swallowed: “Never felt it before. Lust, maybe.”

She nodded: “Exactly. Lust is obvious, it pokes you in the eyes. Love isn’t. It sneaks up behind you and then slaps you upside the head.”

“Has it?”

John reached across the table and tapped Jane’s forehead with a finger, then sat down again without a word.

Jane looked at him for the longest time. She then grabbed the last slice and looked at it before tearing it in half and offering part to John: “It’s sneaking up on me. What about you?”

He took the slice from her hand: “The same. Course, there are some questions that have to be answered before I’m sure.”

“How much closet space you need, whether you hog the entire couch, how lousy a driver you are, whether you like breakfast in bed or not. You know … important stuff.”

Jane had that smirk as she bit into her slice: “Half the closet, I share the couch, I’m a better driver than dancer and yes … I do like breakfast in bed … with the right one there with me.”

John smiled as he finished his part of the pizza: “So … where are you planning to spend the night?”

Jane pointed at the empty bed on the other side of the room: “Over there. I’ll warn you right now: if you snore, I will throw things at you.”

“I’m a heavy sleeper.”

Jane had that smirk again: “Oh, I hope so.”

While Jane gathered up their dinner and put things away, John went through his evening routine. There was an odd moment when he was brushing his teeth and he noticed Jane at the door watching him.

His arched eyebrow, his mouth was full of toothpaste after all, was met with her commenting: “That’s one point for you. Good dental hygiene.”

After washing out the toothpaste he replied: “That’s important? Really?”

She had that smirk again: “Damn right. Makes kissing a lot more pleasant.”

John didn’t quite know how to answer that. He did spend a lot more time brushing than he usually did, though. When he came out, he found Jane wearing an oversized shirt and not a lot else. At first, he was going to tell her that she was evil again.

But instead he asked: “You’re sure you want to be here?”

Jane didn’t say a word. Instead she helped him to his bed, gave his right hand a light squeeze and then walked over to the far side of the room where the light switch was.

After she turned the lights out and settled in for the night across from him, Jane finally replied: “Only way if I’m going to find out if you’re Mister Right for sure.”

He lay in bed pondering that until sleep overtook him, and then John … started to snore.

But then, Jane’s snoring wasn’t any better than his.

A Review of His Naughty Succubus by Jennifer James

His Naughty Succubus by Jennifer James

His Naughty Succubus by Jennifer James

One of the things that I hold dear is that every soul is meant for another. The most difficult part of that is having them meet, see that truth, and then understand it. Really that is the most difficult thing. How can one prove, beyond a shadow of a doubt that the connection is there, it is real, and it matters.

It’s far more difficult when you are a Succubus, and the legends that tell what you are do not reflect who you are and what you really are. The truth comes out in the end, and in that moment… things change.

The work tells the story of:

Ghost hunter Liam MacDonnell has decided to do a special Halloween investigation on an infamous haunted house. He’s hard up for some action of the ghostly kind, and is looking for a sure thing. Lucky for him, cursed succubus Trinity Bell is waiting for him, and has a special assignment she needs him to bring to orgasmic completion.

Liam investigates a haunted house and finds that it is haunted by a Succubus. But she’s nothing like the legends say she should be. Trapped because of a curse, she hopes to be finally released by Liam.

This work was originally published in the Naughty Tricks and Sinful Treats anthology in 2013, and I honestly cannot believe that I missed that work when it came out. So, for me, this was a completely new work from Jennifer that I hadn’t seen before. Having read it at last, I have to say that I want to see a series about Liam and Trini. Leaving things here, where this work closes, would be a real shame.

It’s a wonderful mix of passion, mystery, and redemption that I loved from the first word to the last. What I particularly liked was how the mystery was ever so slowly revealed. There are hints about what Liam means to Trini and the reverse is true as well, but it’s very well hidden within the action and confusion that Laim faces from the first step he takes into the house.

There are quite a number of twists and turns in this work to do this and really how that is played between the two characters, the secrets each of them have are held until they have to push through the confusion, mistrust and misunderstanding.

Liam, from the moment he appears has something about him. He seems to be aware of it, if only fleetingly and unclearly. His past is wrapped up in some questions looking for answers and what he has been through since becoming involved with the supernatural are hinted at. That has coloured his attitude and view of the world sadly. But the most troubling thing is the question of why it troubles him so, why he is so connected to the supernatural, and what that all means. The answer to that question was something that made this work special.

Trini’s story, when it is completely told, is both heart breaking and at the same time proof that you can do anything for the right person. Even suffer through a curse, knowing that one might never escape it. But trusting nonetheless.

For Trini, really it is a matter of trust, of seeing that in herself and in Liam as well. Liam has to accept and trust that the legends about Succubi are not true, that Trini will not kill him like the legends tell. That there is something more about her. Trini is, for me, an example of what I believe that Succubi and Incubi are. In her actions, and that of Liam, that truth comes out at last.

But before that moment comes, before the truth about Trini and Liam is told, there are moments where Trini’s fears rush at her. Actions which Liam takes that put everything on a knife edge of whether things will work out for the best or not.

With all of that there are some deliciously hot moments of erotica as well. A slight hint of a submissive touch to Trini’s character comes out in them that I thought worked well. The raw unbridled passions that connect Trini and Liam together are told in a way that just worked right for both characters. Some of the more dominant actions taken by Liam felt… slightly off… at first, but as Trini’s story was told it made a lot more sense. By the end of the work the pieces all fall into place and that I appreciated.

The work ends with a promise, an opening to what could well be a future series about Trini and Liam, and that’s something I would dearly like to see. The tease, and really it is a tease, is simply the perfect opening and I hope the author does travel along that path.

Well written, two characters that I really cared about from start to finish. A setting that held throughout and kept me turning the pages. There are questions unanswered of course, but they didn’t have to be in this work, but I hope they would be in any future stories about them.

I’m giving this work four and a half out of five pitchforks.

I really want to see these two characters appear again. How the story ends just begs for it to continue. More so as Trini just fascinates me and I would like to see more of her being a Succubus and one that I personally love in attitude, intent, and most of all… desire. And then, of course, there is the question of Liam and the secrets that he holds as well.
