Pleasuring the Demon Summoner: Forbidden Lovers at Magic School by Laila Wicked

There are, of course, many succubus transformation stories. Where things are a bit more rare are the stories that tell of the path a character takes in getting to the transformation or, more interestingly, what it means to them.

A review then of a work that reads very much like the beginnings of a series and I hope it is.

The work tells of:

He’s a demon summoner; I’m a good witch. At the Briarmark Institute for Magic, good and evil don’t mix. Only… I’ve always wanted to become a succubus. And there’s a test I’m going to have to pass if I want to become a full blown succubus. It involves seduction, something I’m not the most familiar with. And that’s where he can help…
It’s going to be a long night. And I know that he’s going to teach me how to feel good…

Glenna is a good witch, but she wants to be a bit on the bad side. Attending a school of dark magic might not be the best idea. Deciding to become a succubus might be even more so. But encountering Rowan and being smitten by him, could be the worst, or best, thing she’s ever done.

The work is a fun, amusing and quite hot work of erotica with two main characters that fit together really well. Both Glenna and Rowan have the personality, style and wit to keep the story interesting and moving towards the heat that blooms when they are together.

The erotica isn’t silly or over the top, and I appreciated that as the characters with all of their flaws, wants and needs, shouldn’t be toyed with. That said, there’s wonderful teasing before the heat and when the climax is past, there’s still heat and delight in what comes.

Rowan isn’t really an incubus and Glenna isn’t a succubus, at least in this story. The point is the leading up to what comes next I think and I hope that’s actually a follow on work. The storytelling is wonderful, the characters are captivating. But as well it’s a bit unclear what succubi are exactly. They are mentioned, teased, but really there’s nothing clearly said about them.

That I find interesting as it allows for Glenna, and Rowan for that matter, to take things in unexpected directions. At least I hope it will.

Four out of five pitchforks.

There’s really not much in the way of a succubus or incubus story here, but there’s the beginnings of something interesting. I’d really kike to see a follow on story, perhaps even a series from this. Glenna and Rowan are delightful as a pair and the idea of Glenna becoming a good succubus I think is something to be explored. Perhaps it will.
