It is my personal tradition that on this day, at this time, I pen something in remembrance.
The words themselves cannot, truly, express what has been lost, been sacrificed. We cannot, really do so. But we can give thanks and remember.
They are Remembered
By TeraSThey stand in the moment
Their thoughts their own
They recall lives
Their memories clearThe days past
They remember
The lives lost
They recallA moment of laughter
They smile
A moment of tears
They shedSharing a drink
They once tasted
Sharing fears
They come againSeeing the battle
They cry out
Seeing them fall
They look awayCelebrating the end
They cheer
Celebrating the loss
They reminisceTime passes on
They live on
Time wears on
They push onForgotten heroes
They do not
Forgotten sacrifice
They cannotRemembering their faces
They can like yesterday
Remembering their voices
They hear like they are thereRemember for a moment
They salute
Remember them
They do
