A unique look at Morrigan and Lilith Aensland…

Art of Succubi is one of the things that I find most interesting to find on my searches of the internet and elsewhere around the world. What I especially like are some of the concepts and ideas that take the usual and turn it a bit on its head…

I found two interesting pieces of art the other day on one of those image sites on the web. To be honest I don’t remember which site it was, but the two of them I think are an interesting look at Morrigan and Lilith Aensland of Darkstalkers…

The first is of the pair clothed in their usual outfits.

The second has the pair nude, but in the same poses as the first image.

Now this was a bit of a search for me to figure out who the artist is that created these works. The first problem was that the website listed on one of the works doesn’t exist anymore and searching under different variations of the name at the bottom of the art didn’t match up right either…

But after some time I decided to look on DeviantArt and guess what?

They have a page there.

The artist is named Guillermo dela Peña, who is based in Mexico and you can find their site on DeviantArt here. There are many wonderful pieces of art on their site that have so much detail and talent in them that sometimes it is really quite easy to see them as photographs and not the lovely pieces of art that they represent…

To me, the one thing that is the most striking about these pieces is the love that is passing between Morrigan and Lilith in their poses together, but more so the expressions that they have in this caught moment between them. It’s not something sexual I think, but really the love shared between Morrigan and Lilith that you can see in the stories that have been written about them both.

It also strikes me the details in their hair and clothing. The fur trim on their clothing has so much detail in it. The hair is so fine that you can just about count every single strand of hair from top to bottom.

I also like the way their wings are joined into their bodies. I have always wondered about that. How would it work exactly, were their normal skin colour would start and end, where the wing colours would as well. I really am happy that their wings are not sharp angular things as some drawings have them be, but smooth things that look like they belong there on their forms.

It’s really obvious that the artist placed so very much effort and love into this work, as he has done with his images of Felicia from Darkstalkers and other fantasy and comic subjects that you can fine on their DeviantArt gallery here.

I think that these images are the most wonderful works I have ever seen of the Succubus Aensland sisters and for that, I thank Guillermo with all my heart…

Let me share a story, sister,
not with words . . . Oh no:
    see it in my eyes, dear sister;
    feel it in my touch.
Skin to skin we share it, sister,
    pulse to pulse, we tell
so much more than lexis, sister.
    Make a tale with me.
