A Review of Orgy of the Succubi by Indy McDaniel

Orgy of the Succubi by Indy McDaniel

I dislike stories that begin in the middle. What I mean by that is writing a story where something has happened in the past, something critical to the characters of the story is glossed over. What follows is then a story that is missing something.

The why, how, and who is important and really does need to appear in the story somewhere. However, in the case of much erotica there is the suggestion of something important happening, but the reader never gets to see what it was, only guess at it.

Hot scenes are important, but so is a reason for what happens as well from time to time…

  • Title: Orgy of the Succubi
  • Author: Indy McDaniel
  • Publishing Date: May 29, 2013
  • Length: 11 Pages
  • ASIN: B00D3L1DB8
  • This work at Amazon.com

The story tells of:

Mara and Yuki are working to bring Caitlin into their demonic ranks as a fellow succubus. Collin and Zeke are just the two hapless young men being manipulated by the pheromones filling the air. Not that anyone’s complaining.

Caitlin once was an ordinary girl until two Succubi, Yuki and Mara noticed her and decided to turn her into a Succubus as well. What follows is the three using their powers, including mind control, to make two friends of Catlin’s do their bidding.

There are some erotic moments, including f/f And m/m scenes. In fact the entire work is short sex scenes connected with a few thoughts from one or two characters before it continues. The problem I have is that the story begins in the middle. There is no explanation of just how Catlin is now a Succubus. The display of her powers and that of the other Succubi is very quick and undersized in nature. We don’t even know if any of them have horns or a tail for that matter.

Overall, the story would work if the Succubi were not. Removing the mention of Succubi just turns the story into a teenage sex story with a bit of spice to it. It isn’t so much the story of Succubi as it is the story of three girls making two boys perform for them, the reward being that they can have sex with the girls.

A bit too juvenile for my taste, though based on the names of the Succubi sisters if felt like an episode of a Japanese manga series. That’s not a bad thing, but given that so much of the story was about Catlin learning to use her powers as a succubus, it would have been nice to see the beginning of this story.

By the same point, the story ends too soon, leaves questions unanswered and really could have been much longer and involved than it is. A hot flash alone isn’t everything. It is adding the spie to the characters in their lives that makes it so much more.

Two and a half pitchfork out of five.

More story to match all of the sex scenes and I would like this much more than I do honestly…

Given Your Majesty’s review of Sex With a Succubus the other day, I am beginning to think the royal rating scale has become mis-calibrated somehow, off by about one-and-a-half pitchforks. You hit on the reality: this is not a succubus story save that, by making the girls succubi, there is no need to explain making them slutty and manipulative. In reading the summary, I could tell from a mile off that this was simply an eleven-page excuse for masturbation.

This is not a real succubi story. Maybe the scale is two0-and-a-half pitchforks off the beam.

It almost feels like the author was going to do an In-Media-Res thing but lost their confidence somewhere along the way and didn’t feel like restructuring their work. I agree with your rating though. It didn’t have a lot of story but at least the porn was good and nobody got injured or died in the process. With the usual quality of succubus lit that’s a good thing in itself.

I think I need to reduce the hot choc I am having while I was reading my heart…
