I’ve seen this Succubus costume before I think… another way…

I mentioned before that I’ve noticed that some Succubus, or Devil Girl costume ideas are being… recycled. What I am really wondering about is, why do they keep recycling the same odd thing so much that it sticks out like a sore thumb?

Sequin Devil Costume

This is called the Sequin Devil Costume, which actually is interesting as I’ll explain in a moment or two…

The costume comes with the red gown and black tulle, a pair of devil horns, and the pitchfork the model is holding.

It originally sold for $99.95, but I have found it on sale for $84.95 Us at several sites, some even a bit less than that.

I am quite sure that you have noticed the really ugly black flame pattern on the dress. Those that have read some of my reviews of various costumes might realize that, in fact, that pattern has appeared on several costumes I have looked at.

The dress change, the frills are different, the accessories might be different as well, but that same ugly flame pattern appears in each and every one of them.

It doesn’t even really look like flames to be honest and that’s what really bothers me most of all. Why use such a ugly pattern when it really serves no purpose?

I’ll also add that the pitchfork is laughable, the horns are nothing special, and the tulle is… well it looks wrong to me at least.

I don’t care for this, and certainly will not consider it for my costume this year for Halloween…

However, and this is a very minor point, take away the flame pattern and the tulle… The dress might not be that awful…

But that’s asking for a lot I think…

One quarter pitchfork out of five.

More to come of this sort of mistake next week…

I think at this point we’re at “Awful Dress 3: The Reckoning”. I know it’s an ugly pattern, but I kind of want it to live on and become a running gag for this site. Sadly, knowing cheap costumers, it probably will. I can’t wait for “Awful Dress 4: Sons of Liberty”.

It seems to me the red dress is a lot like one with an awful hem from not too long ago. The black tulle may have the small virtue of hiding that previous mistake with a much more glaring error. 😉

Oddly that sounds like a SyFy movie of the week…
