Desires – Beginnings

“What is more important than the emotion is the expression of it: love for others to share, pain for others to help heal…” He replied, still with that amiable smile on his face. He decided to help solve her little attack of indecision, taking the seat next to her. With one hand, he waved away her apology.
“There is nothing to apologize for…this is everyone’s place…and besides,” He grinned, gesturing subtly towards the other patrons. Some of them were still a little enraptured by the music of the night, and more than a few glanced in their direction. “they certainly don’t seem to object a little amateur involvement. If anything, they’ll want you back for an encore some night.”
Martin took a sip from his own cup and sighed. It had gone lukewarm…serves him right for getting caught up in his thoughts like he did. Oh well, at least the flavor was still there. “Your kind, you say?” An eyebrow quirked a little at that comment, and he chuckled softly. He certainly knew the feeling well enough…though sadly, it was less of a problem these days. “Hmm…well, I could say simply that I wish to converse with a fellow musician, and a rather lovely one at that…that should satisfy enough curiosity for a night.”
He reclined a little in his chair, rocking it back on two legs. Not to any extreme distance, but enough to balance to a comfortable angle. “And as for company…I have all the time in the world to share.” He peered into his cup for a moment, and shrugged. “Well…at least until the tea runs out,” he joked.
What is it in tea that makes us pause and reflect?
