A wonderful story of Lilith YouTube…

I’ve noticed that there seems to be a lot of videos appearing on YouTube that attempt to tell the story of Lilith… I think that this is one of the better ones really…

And in case the embedding doesn’t work:

I found it interesting the scripture quoted within this work, some of it I wasn’t aware of, but I thought that while the story was told well, I think that what should be remembered is that while some see Lilith as being important to women…

They forget that she is also important to men, and not in the way that you are thinking right now I’ll bet…

What I mean is that there is nothing wrong with men and women being equals, which to me is what Lilith is telling us…

Or at least she is to me…

In any case, have a look at the video, enjoy the music and images and ponder things…

Isaiah, in mentioning Lilith, is referencing the midrashes that were already well known. Midrashes are not Scripture stories that didn’t make the cut for Biblical canon; they are reflections on the Scriptures that take on the form of stories to illuminate what are seen as Biblical truths.

The sad thing about these midrashes are that they reflect a truth that about equality of men and women which the rabbis and prophets rejected. In Christian Scripture, it is Jesus who finally recognizes that equality, treating everyone as equals and not making sex the defining thing at all.
